Well I just heard on CNN that the Microsoft Vista OS has been delayed untill January 2007 to further develop the security and some other things.

EDIT: One can only wonder if this is partly a marketing strategy to get more impatient people to buy a 360 instead of waiting for DX10/Vista. I suspect Oblivion resulted in a sales spurt of the 360.

Well im not looking forward to DX10 anyways. I just upgraded, the sooner it comes out the sooner I have to upgrade :(. And there is nothing in this world that will posses me to get an XBOX 360. I just dont understand consoles ( You cant upgrade them, and they only play games and DVD's.)

lol thats the exact point of consoles. no need to upgrade or update things, but i do agree with you and i prefer pc more because then you can compare your system with other people

Not surprising, everything I'd heard from the beat builds was that it still had a ways to go til it was finished, besides, it's Microsoft..

Apparantly it's not the secruity thats the problem. Vendors don't want Vista coming and screwing up all there christmas sales or something. The Inquirier had a good article on it.. So they wait until after Christmas. The main reason they said this is because Vista for Corporate Customers is still coming out in November(Was it's release date).
Heres a quote: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30459
"But Allchin said that Microsoft’s vendor partners do not want a November release because it will kill off all their pre-Christmas sales.

He says they do not want to release software which might "create instability" and cause their back catalogue sales to fail and stuff up their busiest sales period."

Either way im just glad Microsoft is taking all the time they need for the OS.

I think good old MS would like to wait a little till Device/Software vendors come up with 64bit drivers, I think. Nothing much to worry about I guess.

won't affect me.
i was not gonna get Vista for a while after its release anyway.
this perhaps just gives me more time for that top end PC i am ever so slowly saving up for.

Thank god they did that. And it won't affect me at all..I'm not buying vista until it's been out for at least a year.

Will this affect Crysis release ?
since it use DX10 :(

There's nothing to stop them from releasing DX10 prior to Vista.

Well Chris we kinda need an OS to run Dx10......

Exactly, Im going to save up and buy or build a PC after Vista is released though.

Hopefully I can get Vista as "free" pack-in software with my new PC.

Then, I have Vista running on a cutting-edge DX10 PC with a DX10 graphics card. I'm getting a PCI-Express motherboard/card this time.

Then Hopefully I will be ahead of most people, meaning I can run very high settings on games for a while

Well consoles are simple.

PC's require knowlege to use properly, whether it be upgrading the hardware or navigating the complex software.

This is part of the reason that PC's don't have as many games, which is mainly the fault of consoles, which is mainly the reason that consoles are so successful - they have tons of games!

Confused yet? lol.
