Sup guys? What do you guys think of Vocaloid, Hatusune Miku, and MMD? She's a teenage girl, or rather a virtual representation of one. She's quite popular in Japan. Vocaloid is the software used to create her and other characters. Miku Miku Dance (MMD) is a program that allows people to create videos and animations using Miku and other Vocaloid characters. I was surprised when I discovered that some people at my high school knew who she was. There are also live concerts of her, where they use holograms to create her image and make her dance and sing. Watch the videos, discuss, and share your own in this thread.

Also, here's a live performance of her:

The saddest thing of all about the last video is that you know that the crowd is composed of nothing but guys.

Just now learning that the vocals are not even real lowers my personal opinion of this even more.

But generally I don't care how people spend their own money, so whatever.

The last video in you post has been shared here before. It's pretty impressive. I wouldn't have guessed the voice was fake if I hadn't already known. Then again, I don't speak Japanese so it probably easier to fool my ears than if it had been in English.

I really dislike vocaloid. All of my weeaboo natures tell me I should like it, but I just absolutely hate how the voice sounds. It's jarring and inhuman enough that it really gets on my nerves and I just can't listen to it.
Autotuning has the same effect.

The world must be coming to an end; children no longer obey their elders and grown men salivate over a hologram of.... whatever this is.
