Is their a voice changing software out their? I would like to come on a server and freak everyone out with my Darth Vader voice. :p I heard a user a year ago do this and I thought it was neat.

Yes... but I'm very sure this topic doesn't belong here.

No this person had the Darth voice plus the creepy breathing noise. It was so cool and I asked the user how he did it, but he didn't say.

Uhh, seeing as you can plug anything that has a 1/8" minijack plug into a microphone jack, it could have been many different things...

As FieceDityLink pointed out,. theres a good chance it was some kind of external hardware.

And yes, this thread really, truly, does not belong in this forum.

Not sure to be completely honest, as they said, could have been anything.

Did you register just to post that you don't have any information to add? :rolling:
(Welcome to the forums! :D)

i had the same thought fluke, i also think you have way too many posts considering how long ago you registered! I know of programmes that change your voice like that, but specifically there isnt a darth vader one ive seen, just search around the net for it, im sure it exists.

Squeeze your testicles in a vice. Two things are possible from this.

1.) Your voice actually goes higher in a comical fashion.

2.) You sob loudly in pain while gently touching your crushed nether regions, too scared to actually attempt to pull the device off in fear that your agony will increase.

Either way, the server should have fun listening to you.

Priceless :)

Anyway, people that do goofy stuff in voice comm are as annoying as a cat in heat.

If he was only saying things from the movie it's possible he was using Half Life Sound Selector. It takes .wav files and plays them over the mic so they sound perfect in most cases. You just run the program and select the sound waves that you want and bind the waves to a key and whenever you press that key the sound will play. It's pretty cool.

Just use a studio effects module (like a guitar pedal or such). Yamaha SPX90 should be quite cheap.

How come my sound doesn't work when I have 2 speakers and a sub hooked up into my mainboard sound? Does your sound work when you plug it into the mainboard sound? Please help. Just thought i'd post this if we're asking questions. :)

Thanks alot guys! Yeah now I remember the guy say a line from the movie with the Darth voice. It was the wav player program! I won't be annoying though with the mic (never was). Thanks!

yes there is, its called ingame voice coms.

because EVERYONE sounds like darth vader on there anyway!

i have only been on ONE CS server where when people spoke it was clear, maybe its a setting people dont bother to tweek.

And hence, teamspeak stays installed.

There are actually programs out there to change your voice over teamspeak to a multitude of different effects. I've had a friend do it but I can't seem to reproduce it using the same program. Guess I just suck!

The program he was using was called AV VCS Diamond or something. Do a search on it.

Ownzed, some on-board sound cards need to be controlled through software. If your sound is Realtek on board, there's a utility that comes with the motherboard software cd called Av Rack. I'm sure you can configure different types of settings in there.

Needless to say, I have a sub woofer and 2 speakers connected to my PC and they work fine, but that's using an Audigy card. I havene't tried it with the onboard sound.

There's also a control panel applet in windows that allows you to adjust speaker settings, could be in there too?

Well this is not the original topic of the thread but if you have 5.1 enabled and don't have the hardware to support it then your sound will not work correctly. For example when I am using headphones and I forget to switch it from 5.1 to headphones I get a noises in places they shouldn't be and have a hard time hearing someone sneak up on me.

HAS ANYBODY THOUGHT ABOUT THE F***ING FACT THAT S/HE COULD'VE BEEN USING A DAMNED MICROPHONE PUT UP TO HIS MOUTH (probably in) AND THEN TALKING!!!!oneoneone111!!!11one!!!111!!one!
anyhow, i have a 7.1 sound board hookup, though, i only have a 5.1 speaker set up. for most games, the extra speakers is worth it.

wtf? I am confused...

On a side note.. to give f|uke more ammo against me.. I will continue to support this off topic thread in the HL2 forum hehe. What is with the !!!!!!1111one!!!! fiasco? I didn't play CS online until CS:S so I missed out on the whole purpose of that annoying shit.

About 10 years ago I had a machine with a Yamaha XG-50 (i think) soundcard that had an amazing ability to 'change' voices ... you could run a microphone into it, and run the line-out into the microphone of another (gaming) computer, and voila.

It worked awesomely, quite a suprising and awesome feature for such a dated piece of kit.
