I just read on gamespot that tribes vengence just went gold and is shipping on Oct. 5, looks like it won't be sooner than that for hl2.

i think the staff here would be doing themselves a favour by adding to the announcements at the top about retail release dates and such.

Guys, unless there's a court injunction regarding Steam between now and release, HL2 could theoretically be sold the instant it goes gold.

Now, wether or not VU is sitting on the gold until this is sorted out is unknown, but it sure makes sense to me. According to that lawsuit article, the next court hearing is October 8th(my birthday!), so I'd say depending on how that goes we may get the game then. Call it a hunch.
