W.I.P. Horse

thanks, I worked on the mouth and eye a bit, added a little definition to the nostrils. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them, if not I'll start working on the body soon.

wow I love it , I like it smooth and sexy ;)

edit: oh and I noticed the nose hole looks a little jagged :cheese:

I can't comment on the anatomy at this point since I don't have time right now to look at some horse anatomy pictures, but it looks to be nicely modeled. If you want any crits on the construction we'll need to see a wireframe.

i like it, very good. only thing is, the smoothing on the ears looks a bit messy, and the nostrils ( i think ) are a bit smaller and maybe shud b deeper. other than that, very good.

I suggest searching some horse anatomy on google

I have two reference images that I was using, here's a new render with fixed nostrils and a wireframe!

how do I render so the wireframe is with the smoothed model? Whenever I render with wireframe, all you see is the wireframe and no planes!

Clone the model and then apply a "Push" modifier of .01 to the clone. Then create a new material and check "Wire" in that material's properties and apply it to the clone.

thanks

I got tired of modelling the horse for the night, so I gave him cannon arms and a frog-snake tail! Oh No!

Thats the most bad ass horse ive ever seen.

heh, pure boredom ;P
Well, I'm about done with the modelling of him, just need a way of doing the tail and neck hair, any ideas?

the legs are to short..........

they look very out of perportion

the body of the horse also looks a little short..

well, the reference image I used was a different breed of horses, it seems, however, I did modify the head and legs a bit, so I'm pretty sure that's about all I'll need
The horse was modelled off of a specific type of horse, I don't really know much about horses, but the reference image and the model fit well together, so once I optimize him, all I need are a tail and mame and the modelling is done.
Anything idea how to get a good looking tail and mame?

could you post your refeerence image.....im around horses all the time....

my sister is a vet and she does shows and crap.......that dosnt look anatomically correct.

just constructive critiscm....im not trying to be a jerk. if thats how you want it i will shut up. :p

smaller head, slightly longer neck. Try that and see how it looks

not a bad start though, isn't like their the easiest thing in the world to model either

yeah i guess thats what through me off...you either need to make the head smaller or enlarge the body.

there also needs to be more curve on the butt.

you cant see it in that pic becuase its at an angle and the horse's leg looks slightly lifted

heh, I figure I can sit here and tweak this thing for hours and hours and never be satisfied, so unless there are any major problems, I'm going to add the hair on the neck and begin unwrapping :D

atleast shrink down the head some........it looks more like a pony or a really fat colt than a horse

I run a mod, which is what this will be for, and I really want to get it done as soon as possible, so all my time is dedicated to it :D Sorry

its stomach (the bit at the tail end) needs to come up more so its not as flat and fat... plus its penis aint big enough... those horses are dirty little(big) buggers!

its tail should be longer...
and also its neck needs to be longer

i have included a modified photoshop image for you to see a few adjustments have been made making it a look a bit more in proporiton... ive decreased the head size... increased the enck length
move the front leg a bit and increased the ridge height between his front legs... given it a bit more of a "racing horse" figure by lifting its stomach up... and adjusting where its stomach connect with the legs at the front too

increased tail length and added a mane (or however its spelt...)

:)

No horse cocs in my mod :p
I think I'll go for a female horse.

Thanks for the image, it looks like it'll help out quite a bit!

no problem glad i could help :) plus it keeps me using photoshop :)

i dont think the legs and feet look chunky enough hehe they look to small to hold all the weight

now i aint no 3d renderer but i did spend alot of time around horses and used to draw them alot and this is what i think should be added. one problem with the front legs is it looked like it had 3 jionts so i drew where you should make the jionts apear and about how much you should add to the legs on the upper thigh.
