At the Values Voters Summit over the weekend, Sen. Tom Coburn's chief of staff opened a new front in the War Against Hormones (WAH) when he explained that if we tell teenage boys that straight porn will make them gay, they'll never touch the stuff again.

While I don't agree with this entirely, there is a bit of point sticking out from under the rubbish. Straight porn is all about the guy, even though much of the camera's focus is on the girl.
There existed rules in porn in the 70's and 80's (even the 90's?) about what noises the male could and couldn't make, and exactly how he had to copulate with the female. However, there are very infrequently shots of the male's face - no reaction shots showing enjoyment or pleasure. You failed to point out something else more relevant about lesbian porn regarding this matter.

I for one enjoy it a lot for the idea of lesbianism. The wrongness of it, yet them being driven by their strange lust. It's a concept of homosexuality. Some of the same feelings one would have being turned on by gayness are present in someone being turned on by lesbianism. And vice versa... Therefore, a guy who enjoys lesbian porn (for more than the fact that it's just 2 women, I'm talking about the psychology, which is the most powerful aspect of a porn if you ask me) may have the same capacity to enjoy gay porn. Of course, it's not that simple, for straight guys are usually not interested in a naked male, much less 2 naked males getting it on. That turn-off overshadows and thus leaves dormant the desire for homosexuality in any form other than female.

Yes. As I expected, there are many ways around my initial post, which was for all intents and purposes a broad, simplistic view. The way you're describing lesbian porn seems to focus on the excitement of the social taboo of homosexuality, without any of the gross icky ew latent homophobia of dicks and balls touching one another. That, and the fact (as I described above) that they're obviously enjoying themselves.

My post was not at all meant to be a cavalcade of inescapable, universal, empirical truths. People can like what ever porn they like (gay, lesbian, inter-racial, vanilla, kink) for a plethora of reasons, one as wide, if not wider, than the differences in people's sexual preferences. Porn preference, however, does not have to mirror sexual activity - it can be the excitement of something foreign, or the witnessing of a fantasy that will never happen, or simply the hotness of two (or more ! ! !) people enjoying themselves.

"Straight porn will make you gay" is completely bogus. Even if it said, "Can make you gay", still don't buy it, you see.

Perhaps homosexuals started off watching straight porn too, since it was readily available, and because they were discovering their sexuality, but eventually discovered they were attracted to the men? So, probably born that way you think? Maybe they didn't even know they were gay until they saw a man having sex on porn and lusted after it.
