If you fancy doing a quick search you'll find a few threads similar to this asking wether it was worth purchasing. The thread starters took the plunge and bought the game. They then later posted saying how utterly aamzing it was while creaming their pants. Also, if you're familiar with either Total Annihilation or Warcraft 3 then you will feel at home with it.

And it's the greatest Multi-Player RTS on the PC. Nuff said. It's just utter carnage.

The singleplayer campaign is short & easy (12 missions) with god-awful voice acting in some cases. Graphics are amazing for an RTS, gameplay is excellent.

You should buy the game if you're a hardcore RTS fan and plan on playing online skirmishes a lot.

As mentioned above, the campaign isn't great but obviously there's scope for updates and expansions. The skirmishes however are bloody great.

Yeah I noticed that Zerimsky, when starting the singleplayer campaign you have a drop-down menu where you can select "Dawn Of War" and since the ending (no spoilers) is a cliffhanger... well, all signs point to expansion packs for the singleplayer.

I hope they add new commanders for each race and more unique units, I want my master psycher to be in terminator armor :)

I gave it a quick play on a friend's PC, I was pretty impressed by it. I'm not big on RTS games of late, but the skirmish mode seemed to incorporate ideas from other genres, like the domination style capture points. Anyway, from the 5 minutes I played it seemed like a cool game, only problem was the creepy Eldar voice actors :|

It's the first RTS i've actually finished since C&C generals came out. It is amazing.

Like Badhat said, the eldars are awful and personally I don't like the orcs either :|

Whaaa? The voice acting for the Orks is brilliant. No game is complete without Cockney Orks. And that is how Eldar should actually sound if you've read the fluff, Space Elves on dope.

No complaints from me.

:imu:

if u only play the single player missions i wouldnt buy it if i were u.

Yeah I know what you mean about the Orks, that's how I expected them to speak from what I read in the Codex (Codexes? sp?) and WhiteDwarf magazines but I certainly did not expect the Eldar to speak like that, or speak at all.

12 missions total? Is that split over the four races? That would mean 3 missions each...

Wow. Looks even better than Rome Total War. (which might i add, was very dissapointed in). I'm gonna give it a shot. Thanks guys!

it looks much better then in those pics, if u do high resolution and AA+AF

Ichi: Good against the remote is one thing, good against the living is something else. ;)
