Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine exclusive interview

A Warhammer game that might not suck?!

Just kidding. I merely never enjoyed Dawn of War. This looks pretty good.

And no cover system?! Can that be true? If there is no cover system everyone should buy this game on principle alone! (it looks pretty neat anyways)

This looks so much better than the gameplay shown in the initial reveal. Hope there's more to it than just stomping Orkz. Gimme some Nids and Tau to slice.

Fighting orks, while cool, will probably get boring as quickly as the Locust did in GOW. I would LOVE to see some Tau.

Tau fighters, Protoss in disguise

Looks boring as shit. There was absolutely nothing innovative in there at all.

Also that guy said the only thing stopping humanity from being destroyed is the Space Marines. UM, IMPERIAL GUARD MOTHER****ER? Imperial Guard are a million times cooler than fagit Space Marines.

Isn't WAAAGH! pretty much unstoppable unless they are dealt quickly? I guess that's what he meant.

They're ****ing Orks. Anybody could deal with them quickly, including the Imperial Guard.

Dude, its 40K - everything is the final blow which will send humanity tumbling into extinction!

Also, IG probably featured - Valkyries arn't the in Space Marine's inventory. But then again they could be Skitarii operated rather than IG, as its a forge world.

And if its a WAAAGH that's managed to cease control of an entire forge world (bashing the snot out of the local titan legion and Skitarii units in the process) its certainly worthy of Space Marine attention. Or the Space Marines might simply be the first reinforcements on the scene - the Imperial Guard isn't exactly a rapid reaction force.

I always got the idea reading the 40k fiction that, eventually, the Orkz will win. Maybe not this WAAAAAGH, maybe not the next one, but eventually, the green tide will prevail. :bonce:

Looks great, I'm so glad they decided to bring this onto the PC as well.

They're sure cool with their red flashlights.

actually tyranids win, but orkz will last a while, probably not as long as the necrons though

iirc, in order of how fast they will lose

dark eldar > eldar > tau > humanity(put them before eldar if the emperor were to die fully) > orks > necron > tyranids

I'm going to agree with Krynn and and say that the Imperial Guard is awesome. Way more awesome.

Also, isn't the entire point of Warhammer 40k that HUMANITY WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL DIE HERETICS DIE BURN IN CLEANSING FIRE

I empathize with orks, not god damn space marines. GRRR.

That's why I didn't want to play Dawn of War 2. Humans? BORING.

I think the Ultramarines is a poor choice, I'd much rather have seen the Space Wolves, since they're one of those space marine chapters that has a more 'unique' look than the other popular ones in my opinion.

Also, Top Secret, that all depends on whether the Emperor of Mankind is able to be reborn or not, if he was reborn Mankind would probably become insanely powerful again, and there are factions in the universe attempting to bring this about. Either in the form of the Star Child or the Sensei-Emperor.

If the Emperor was to be reborn into a new healthy body(or diety), it would mean Mankind would enter in a new golden era most likely.

Um... just a question, but why do we need the Emperor anyway? Can't they just have something else to unite them? I mean, the whole cult thing is cool and all, but isn't killing 50 billion people becuase they are "impure" kinda like a waste, when you can simply just send them out to fight whatever xenos threat there is?

You'll be getting a visit from the Inquisitor real soon for that sort of talk, Heretic.

Same with me Raz. I didn't get DOW2 because it had all the lame races. Basically the only cool race in the entire Warhammer universe(s) are the Tau. They're the only semi-original concept they've had. Orks, Marines, Elves/Eldar, Undead/Necrons, bugs... BORING. Even 20 years ago that shit was unoriginal.

Frankly, I'd rather see more fleshed out all-human fantasy/sci-fi settings than these rehashed ancient ones we can't seem to move past. Thats why I liked Firefly so much. No aliens. And why I like A Song of Ice and Fire. No dwarves or elves. Just very fleshed out human settings. Much more intriguing.

And I think thats why games like Shadow of the Colossus and Legend of Zelda stand out so much. Their fantasy worlds are actually unique and creative.

You know, it's not use the Emperor UNITING the world silly.

The Emperor literally keeps the forces of Chaos at bay using his immense psychic abilities, that's why if the Emperor were to completely 'pass on', Chaos would consume almost all planets of the Imperium, if not all, very very quickly.

Also, ironic as it is, the Emperor originally preached not to have himself deified, and preached that Science should be the only thing Man worshiped, but as man has a tendency to, it deified him quickly and established a cult of personality around him.

Well considering Warhammer was around before SC, I think you'll find its Protoss, Tau in disguise.

Doesn't the emperor also allow for the use of warping tech on the space ships?

If I remember, the emperor serves as some kind of beacon or some shit for the navigators to coordinate their routes through.

Planets get burned to cinder and slag for less than your words, numbers.

The Emperors secrets are vast and wide.

Yeah, balls, he's a space lighthouse. That's why we need him.

(... ... ... he's also DEAD. blood for the blood god!)

Oh. I uh.... all hail the Emperor?

Well considering Warhammer was around before SC, I think you'll find its Protoss, Tau in disguise.

Only problem Dynasty, is that the Tau weren't introduced into Warhammer 40,000 until 2001.

Several years after StarCraft's release.:)

Also MFL, he's not really dead, but he's closing in on death with each passing year unless he can be reborn in one form or the other.

But him and his essence is still alive just enough to keep Chaos from completely overrunning the universe.

Really? I've never heard that mentioned in any of the codexes.
