Warhawk is unbelievable!

Good videos but they should've showed a bit more of the ground combat. Still, flying the Warhawk's is probably the highlight of the game.

And I'm amazed how lag-free this game is, even more so than Resistance I dare to say, everything is so smooth it feels like you're playing singleplayer.

I'm saving for a 46 inch sony XBR4 LCD 1080P TV :)

How much for the TV?

Asuka thinks a game is shit? That... can't be good... OH SHI-

That game looks incredibly boring.

Agreed. I was ready to snooze after the first video. It also looks easy as hell. That auto aim was GAAAAAAY and lame. Using the turret was a snorefest and looked hard to aim with the controller. The ships dont even fly fast. I'd rather play Starfox tbh.

Alright, I'm about to ask a question that people are probably going to flame me for. But I'm not asking to be a jackass, or to incite some spurious and stupid debate. I'm asking it in complete seriousness.

Dream431ca, are you a guerrilla marketer for Sony?

Judging purely off the titles of the threads he had made, ill say hes just a fan(boy?).

You're probably right. It's just kind of crazy how apeshit some of the people here go for the PS3.

What happened to real combat flight sims? Haven't seen or heard of a good one in forever. Some of those old Jane's Combat Flight Sim ones used to be good.

Il-2 Sturmovik 1946, Lock On, Falcon 4 Allied Force.. And there are more under development.

People, people. Give the game a chance and stop being a sulky old whiner. Pretty much everyone I've seen who've played the game have been surprisingly positive to it, and a 83% at Gamerankings is pretty damn good.

Stop ripping it apart until you've at least played 20 minutes of it.

It also looks easy as hell. That auto aim was GAAAAAAY and lame.

It looks easy? That's because he's playing against people who've recently bought the game and are still learning the controls. Do you think everyone gain supreme master skills as soon as they touch the controller? Please, jump into a game and see if you still think it's "too easy".

Using the turret was a snorefest and looked hard to aim with the controller.

What turret? You mean the flak gun? Heh, yeah maybe if you're a PC gamer. The only thing that I could complain about is the frontiersmen vs. frontiersmen combat, the sensitivity for moving around the view is way too slow, the game has this annoying "acceleration" when you turn around the sight (the only way to fix it somewhat is to turn up the sensitivity way high), some might prefer it but I do not.

The ships dont even fly fast.

Yes they do. The Warhawk has many different kinds of speeds though. You can hover, like a helicopter, and attack ground troops more easily. Moving around in this mode is easy but dangerous because you're pretty much a sitting target to tanks, RPG soldiers, flak/missile turrets or even other Warhawks.
The other is the basic fly-around. If you're not holding down either the R2 or L2 button the Warhawk is in its basic speed, neither too slow nor fast. If you hold down L2 it slow down to almost stall speed, you can take tight turns more easily or can even outmaneuver your hunter.
Holding down the R2 makes the Warhawk fly faster, believe me when I say that you're using this speed most of the time when you're flying around.

Of course every aircraft has a afterburner, tapping the R2 button two times, while holding it down, makes it fly at a incredible speed as long as you hold down the R2 button or if the "nitro" depletes. This is most useful if you have to move away from a enemy zone, being followed by a predator or need to pick up items more efficient.

Lastly there's a neat mode in which you can hold down both the R2 and L2 button that makes the Warhawk... well, see for yourself when YOU PLAY IT. ;)

I'd rather play Starfox tbh.

Yeah, and do a barrel roll while you're at it. ;)

Because maybe we like the console? Maybe we're excited when there's news about the console or new games that get announced or released? I don't know about you but I loathe when people go into a thread about a game, even when they don't care about it nor the system its on, and just tear it to pieces for whatever reason. Do you see me go into a thread about a game that I dislike, and literally take a dumb onto it every time I get the chance? No, I stay away from it because frankly no one gives a damn if you dislike it or not.
Stop spoiling the fun from other people by destroying a thread by dwelling your opinion that NO ONE CARES ABOUT. This happens WAY too often on these forums, especially about Halo for whatever reason.
Oh, and we Sony fans aren't more "apeshit" than anyone else here.

Meh, I've had enough. If you people still want to urinate and diarrhea into this thread go right ahead because it's already smelling like cow feces.

Oh, and why is Garg banned?

I'm tempted by this. The reviews have been positive and everyone i've chatted to about it says Warhack is great fun. It seems like ages since we have a decent flying game and I can't remember one that was good online.

The other players have nothing to do with how his crosshairs werent even near the other ship and he was still hitting it. They also look like they blow up with just 4 or 5 laser hits.

What turret? You mean the flak gun? Heh, yeah maybe if you're a PC gamer.

Yeah, its a turret. So shooting a turret on a console is more fun than shooting a turret on a PC? Wut?

Well, from what I saw in the videos, even the afterburn wasnt fast at all. I mean, shit... Star Wars Rogue Squadron's X-Wing moved faster than that.

Yeah, and do a barrel roll while you're at it. ;)
I will! If this game doesnt let you do barrel rolls, then there is no hope.

Meh, I've had enough. If you people still want to urinate and diarrhea into this thread go right ahead because it's already smelling like cow feces.

Sorry that we have a different opinion :(

I don't recall tearing anything to pieces here. I said that Warhawk looks terribly boring.

But really, it seems like even when the smallest, most slightly-positive news or video comes out for a PS3 game, the same six members all sit up and go "WOW THAT LOOKS AMAZING PS3 ROCKS!" It bugs me. Maybe you're trying to counteract some of the undeserved hate that Sony and the PS3 get. Maybe you're fanboys. Maybe you're guerrilla marketers. I don't know, but regardless, it's annoying.

I have my opinions about the PS3, some of which are (again - surprise!) positive, so I try and stay objective about these things. But to me, Warhawk looks like an N64-era third-person shooter coupled with an even more-arcadey Crimson Skies. Obviously I've never played it, which is why I use the term "looked", so don't try and make me out to be some retard who thinks that all PS3 games are shit and that imagining a game is the same as playing it.

Lair looks shite.

I guess so. It certainly looked interesting, to me anyway. I think I'll still try it. IGN absolutly shredded it...

Sony needs to get their collective shit together...Heavenly Sword, another highly anticipated one gets rather so-so reviews. Wtf.

It's still early days yet with the PS3. I'm quite disappointed by the Heavenly Sword reviews (you should read the edge one - slates the game for the crazy number of protracted shooting sections) but always thought of Lair as a tech demo. They liked Warhawk, though, giving it 8/10 (same as Bioshock).

True...it's just always nerve-racking when you're seeing some proclaimed "heavy-hitters" falling flat. With the price Sony is asking AND seeing their sales figures, you'd figure that the sense of urgency as far as releasing several "home-runs" would be greater. The margin for error is getting slimmer by the months.

Good to see Warhawk getting mostly favorable reviews, though.

Got in with the wrong crowd and got his fingers burned it seems. Icebergs indeed.

okay then.

first off, lemme say, i'm not a 360 fan boy, i'm not a wii fan boy, i'm not a ps3 fan boy. if anything i'm a dreamcast fanboy, so no "YOU'RE JUST A (insert console) WHORE" replies plz:

This game looks mixed to me, i haven't played it, so i can't form a true oppinion, but from what i've seen and heard, it actually looks half way good.

is it something as epic as say, Legend of Zelda or HL2? will it forever change the videogame world?

Nope. just a pretty good game.

at least from waht i can see anyways, hell, i could be dead wrong.

as for the lame ps3 exclusives, let me say i'm very sad that Lair sucks so much (watching the game is amazing. . .playing it. . . *cringe*)
and i havent heard anything great about Heavenly Sword either. . .
and then of course Devil May Cry jumped ship (aka Sony May Cry)along with some other games that ppl were hoping on. . .

now, i shall balance this lousy coin

regarding the 360.

there are some excellent games for it right now, as there are for wii and PS3 (i personally think 360 has the most right now tho, specially with XBLA).

but people seem to discard it's failed exclusives a little to quickly. . .

Kameo ( i thought it was pretty awesome myself, but no one else did apparently
Perfect Dark Zero (BLAH)
Blue Dragon (a game that was supposed to be THE jRpg)
The Outfit (CRINGE)
OverG Fighter
Armored Core 4. . .
Tenchu Z
Bomberman Act: Zero
Bullet Witch. . .
N3
DOAX2. . .

need i say more? *note: not totally srue about the exclusivity of a couple of those*

but by the same token it's had alot more success exclusive wise:

Gears of War
Condemned
Viva Pinata (like it or not ppl, it's a good game.)
Project Gotham
Forza2
Guitar Hero3 (not exclusive, but had a ton of exclusive material, plus downloadables)
Dead or Alive 4
Halo3 (or at least the Beta)

as apposed to PS3
Resistance: Fall of Man
Motorstorm
Calling All Cars
Warhawk
(maybe)Heavenly Sword

so really, i find the field to be fairly evenly stacked when it comes to good games. . .it just comes down to the buyer in my book. . .

or wahtever console you win in a contest in my case. . . ha

Ah, how I long for the days where you could read a thread topic and instantly know what the discussion would actually be about.

Oh wait... it was never like that. :(
