Ok, I've been thinking...and yes, I know that's not a good sign but that's what I've been doing lately. And I've come up with a solution to how we still have fun with having our posts edited.
Why don't we/you (administrators) make a little notice on every topic that contains naughty-naughty material, so people know if there's some hanky-panky going on in a topic that they don't want look at.
I know this is suppose to be a forum where everyone can participate and therefore NO mature art/photos etc. But I'm pretty sure people would like this idea. I've tried to make a poll, and since I've never tried THAT before I don't know if it'll work.

D33, Abomination! Release The Dogs/Headcrabs!!

This is just trying to find a way to post porn without getting banned isn't it?

I think so, but ill still have to vote yes for pr0n.

No of course not! There would have to be some rules that would prevent people from posting HUGE amounts of women with their legs spread. People shouldn't overuse it!
For an example I didn't get to see what some of the users posted in the "She's not real..." topic because their posts were edited...

Being as images are linked and not shown on this forum, I think the person actually posting the link should be held responsible for whatever material is at the other end, and warn people appropriately. Common sense will come in handy here..

Sounds like it doesn't it.. lets ban him for simply suggesting it lol j/k ;)

i think its a good idea. Not necessarily porn, but there can be mature threads where perhaps its not best kiddies get involved.

it's too much work for the admins to punish people on a per-post basis and try to determine whether or not a certain person gave a good enough warning and all that crap...it's better to just have a rule against it completely...not to mention that the rule against explicit material maintains the integrity of the website as a whole.

Precisely

:)

Well that sounds like a waste of time, if u want pr0n go to a pr0n web site its simple, warnings actually make it more likely for "kiddies" to access them u fool

hmmm.... maybe i shouldn't have voted yes.... h4x0r teh p0ll and make my yes into a no, please! And check ur PMs, badger

Seems as if it was a bad idea...well to HELL with it! *spits on this topic*

Frank i think the staff here are trying to present a professional gaming site.. and that would be kinda hard to do with the idea ur suggesting..

forget for a second that this would create more work for the mods and admins here and just imagine the number of goofballs that would start posting goatse images without warnings just to get a reaction?.. yeah.. bad idea me thinks.. :p

I dont understand why so many other forums can do it (warn people and enforce it) and not this one.

i think u missed the part of my post where i mentioned that the staff is aiming this site to be a professional gaming site..

now the staff here are more than welcomed to correct me on that.. but anyway its a little (or a lot depending on ur view on nudity in general) un-professional with the pics that probably would be posted here.. and oh, lets not forget a younger crowd visits this site..

anyway, maybe D33 or Munro can comment on the "being a professionally presented gaming site" part.

Yeah, but think about this: I remember someone got suspended for going on this site on a school computer. Why? Because one of the thread titles was 'Sexiest Man/Woman ever: NO nipples and/or genetalia'. Yes, I know it said NO nipples etc but the point is that it mentioned that sort of thing And as teachers/school IT techs don't reall bother to look at the site in any detail it was assumed it was rude. This site is now blocked by my school protection system for much the same reason. Adding 'WARNING: NAUGHTY STUFF' would just spoil it for many other schoolchildren. Won't somebody think of the children?

How do you gauge the level of a warning?

Really?

It's rather hard.

For such a thing to work properly, it would eventually involve moderators checking EVERY post before its made viewable by the users.. We all know how nasty that would get, moderators would get complete control over what gets posted, and with no way to really prove someone said something we'd simply have way too much control over what gets said, cue the screams of censorship etc. It would be a terrible idea, as someone else said, if you want porn go to a porn site not a games site. I can't think of one single reason for pornography on here, not one.

couldnt care less....

not to be crude or anything, but.. this is the exact reason ur not part of the staff here.. and thank god for that..

if i were a parent, regardless of how "easy" it is for my kid to get porn.. i certainly would not want a gaming site to have such images..

theres a reason why porn isn't on every site on the net.. i hope pple have the common sense to understand why...

No this does not need to become another porn forum! Too many forums started out with the naught tags but after a wile they just turned into a porn share forum.

Look, nudity is handled on these forums, in the art and design section, and there is a warning in the the thread title.

However. No porn. Ever... if you guys want porn, go elsewhere.. not to halflife2.net

End of Discussion :)

ahh i remember the good old days at school when we used to hack the network and play games etc, such fun. the tech's account was username: ADMIN p/w: CHANGEME, and he didn't change the password for 5 years. dope.

anyway, we found a cool way to get round most of the 'naughty website filter' stuff. just hop along to http://babelfish.altavista.com and stick your URL in there. make sure you set it to translate the website into english, and hit go. sorted. it worked at my school because babelfish is considered a learning tool, so we spent many an hour browsing 'naughty' ;) sites without having to worry. we'd just be logged as being on babelfish for 4 hours..

Yeh just go to This was removed by FarrowLeSparrow if u want porn

edit: hmm thinking about it now i realised that people might go to that site, so dont blame me for the consequences i dont even know whats on it

If the users wish to place warnings then so be it. However, even with a warning we will still delete porn pr0n and anything else the "Complete hax0r Dictionary" people can think up.

Yep, found out about Altavista ages ago, but I can't be bothered with it because it translates really badly. Still, it's better than nothing.
By the way, if you This has been removed and don't know where This has been removed then don't dispair, you can find really hot This has been removed and a truckload of This has been removed marmalade.
