Warren Spector doesn't think we'll see HL2 this fall

Yep. But it'll still have an effect on future games. You're gonna start seeing Blindfire everywhere now.

I have a feeling we will not see HL2 released until at least april 2004! Why you may ask? becuase valve like's to get those pre-orders in so they can gestimate the size of there wallets. Oh and don't forget there pimpin ati cards. So On the postive side when valve gets done raping are bank accounts they can sit back and have a great laugh about the morons who bought into there "Supposed hard times" when the theft occured.

I have no remorse for them anymore.

I don't care what the ratings are, I'm still going to try it out. You can't base a game off what other people say; stop following others and learn to like what you like. After all, Gamespot gave GTA Vice City 9.4...Wow, that game was great, huh?
I wonder who rated that, sounds like a bunch of High-Shool Stoners...

Uncle-Argyle, I doubt you've been a part of a Game Dev Team, like I have...Thus I hardly believe you can even grasp the situation. Money is rarely a Dev Team's main goal, and even then - making a great game is one of the top three. I also suggest, that once you buy HL2, you use your left over money to buy New Webster's Dictionary.

LOL

Man, I dunno what happened to you, but you have some serious problems, friend.

what was wrong with vice city? much better than gta3 and gta3 rocked

Nothing was really "wrong" with it, except the sun always got in your eye. I just don't think that game deserved a 9.4. Especially when you have far greater games, getting lower ratings. I don't think it was spectacular, at all. The only really cool things were the features, weapons, and Ray Liota doing some voice work. I think it deserved an 8.0, or an 8.5, at best. It was fun, but stupid.

To each his own. It wasn't only Gamespot that gave it a score in the 90%s, so obviously most thought it was an excellent game. Don't think it was mature to call the reviewers a bunch of high-school stoners, then.

And Kill Switch looks like a fun game. I'm trying it either way.

Ok, I admit it was an immature, cheap-shot. But almost everyone I knew, who loved that game, was a freakin' pot-head. They enjoyed it because they got to get away with crime. Then again, that was the people I knew.

As far as Kill.Switch goes; my feelings, about it, are obvious.

Deus Ex :IW is going to rock:

"Warren also told some amusing anecdotes about how some of Ion Storm's playtesters had managed to manipulate the game in ways they had never anticipated. One of their testers had created himself in the game as Dracula. He sucked the lifeforce from nubile young women, could turn himself invisible, was a sworn enemy of the church and religious factions in the game, and used spiderbots as his verminous minions. Needless to say, the team had not anticipated this".

whooo :)

Would certainly fill the gap if Half-Life 2 were not released this year. Hopefully Far Cry will also make it this holiday season.

This is getting pretty O/T, though.

Falcone, and Stalker are coming along nicely. Especially Stalker, my God, that game is beautiful. Next year's going to be a big year for gaming, as if none of us knew.
2004: DooMIII, Halo 2, Splinter Cell 2, Fable, Stalker, and Falcone. I'm not too sure about Falcone, but the others look like heavy hitters. Hopefully Hl2 won't be one of them.

This could be wishful thinking on Spectar's part as I'm sure he'd love to see Dues Ex 2 hit shelves with no competition from the likes of Half-Life 2.
