Was there ever a reason for fixing Vs difficulty?

Seriously, I can't for the life of me figure out why they fixed vs to "normal". Why did they do this?

Because it's virtually impossible to complete on expert. I was in a VS match with 2 good teams on a Expert server and neither team got anywhere near the safe room. The Smoker does 10 hits every seconds and a flaming Hunter kills within 10 seconds.

5 hits from commons and you are incapacitated. It isn't fun when you got hit 2-3 times by stuck-zombies that you cannot hit with melee.

It's a lot more balanced on normal, see.

By the time you get used to how pathetically hard Expert is (not by the time you can actually beat it) Advanced will likely be the new Normal difficulty for ya, that's why i only player expert or advanced now (only game where i actually bother to raise the difficulty for a different experiance).

Would be cool if Expert on VS was Advanced....at least that way it wouldn't be so severe but also not so easy.

it still switches between normal and advanced, but it can piss me off that both games will be the same... same tank and witch encounters. so basically the game is predictable for the next team.

It doesn't matter how good boths teams are in Expert on versus; the Survs will never make it. Same goes for Advanced if you ask me, with zombies inflicting 5dmg each time. I think Hunters inflict 10/15dmg per second in this difficulty aswell. Don't get me wrong, I love Expert in campaign the most, because even lone zombies pose a much larger threat and the buggers can't be underestimated. They've got a nasty habit of sneaking up on you, especially in wood scenarios. Zombies in versus though... "oh no not 2dmg!"

I always go infected first for this reason. It's much better knowing what's coming and being prepared. There are no surprises so you can prepare for the Witch and Tank. A well prepared survivor team beats a prepared infected team.

I'd always felt advanced was a better choice, but I've grown to like normal versus.

It was fixed because some players liked changing the difficulty in between rounds (I.e. Team 1 goes survivor, difficulty is normal, Team 2 goes survivor, difficulty is expert).

That wasn't the reason as both teams would have to vote. So if Team 1 voted to change the difficulty and Team 2 voted no then the difficulty would not change.

I think the game is pretty balanced as it is.

I played on a server earlier which was modded to a harder difficulty and we barely lasted 5 mins. The infected are just too strong when controlled by humans.

I think it'd be cool if the teams switched every map, so if team A was infected first on NM1 then they should be survivors first on NM2 etc etc...

They should have left Advanced as an option. I can understand them disabling Expert though, think of the children.
