Well i'm really looking forward to the hl2 release. like everyone else is. And I was just wondering if it was worth the money yo up grade from this (CLICK HERE)

from what iundertand the 9600 will run it, but the 9800 will run it better. noticably better.

:dozey: If you were to date Half Life 2, the 9800 Pro would be the better choice. It's all on you whether you want to play games with high settings and stuff- 9800 Pro. 9600 XT is not bad either, you can probably pull off medium-high settings with acceptable framerates.

I was just asking this in the first place, because i bought ut2004 today and on the single player I get 78 FPS and on multiplayer I get around 23 FPS ..So i was wondering what FPS I would get with a new radeon 9800 pro ????

Oh I misread you most. I thought you wanted to choose between the two. I think the 9600 will be just fine. How much RAM do you have and what's your Processor speed?

I have 512 of RAM and my proccessor is 1.57 ghz AMD

I'd suggest spending that money on a new processor. Maybe something like this.

ummm my mobo can only hold up to 333mhz FSB....and I have no idea what to do with 64-bit CPU'S ????

Will that work ?? I mean Say im running ut2004 right now a t34 FPS what will a better CPU like thta one make my FPS ???

That will work. If you have money left over I'd suggest buying another 512 ram.

if I buy that CPU and ..right now im getting 34 FPS on a game what will it raise my FPS to ???

oh and when I said I wanted to buy a better Card, its because I want to run hl2 on high settings and for me to actually play it not get really low FPS ????

This is my computer in a nutshell:
AMD 233mhz 1.57
Radeon 9600 pro 256 mb
512 DDR RAM
Just tell me what I need to run hl2 at full speed with decent FPS ?? DOnt worry about money.. but dont be stuoid reseaonable spending ??

If money doesn't metter then get the Processor, the 9800 Pro and one more stick of 512 RAM.
