Remember in Half-Life, when you are in Xen and you hear the weird voice in the background? Does anybody know what it's saying. Me and my friend just beat the game again, and we were hoping someone knew what it was.

Thanks.

Nihilanth? He says a lot of things... most importantly "you are man, he is not. for you he waits" or something like that.

Your avatar bothers me, I cant stop looking at it, Snowball. :/

"you are man, he is not. for you he waits"
how did you get that, snowball? did you just listen really carefully? anyway, it doesnt make any sense, but maybe thats cuz its a giant baby and cant talk any better.

Anyway, ur avatar is awesome, snowball, i could look at it for hours. and i probably will

I suspect Gman is an alien :D Who knows though, we will probably not find out until the end of the HL series.

I was too occupied dodging his plasma balls of doom to know what he was saying :D

If you wanna kill him u just stand behind one of those spikes and shoot at his head. He cant touch you ;)

I've been playing through Opposing Force yet again, and a few things struck me. The first is that there are multiple mentions of the administrator, and some of the scientists mention that they feared something like this would happen, but he had them proceed anyway. And the most intriguing of all is that you are being GUIDED. Anyone who played OP4 knows what I am talking about...the strange ball of light that leads you where to go, eventually bringing you to the final boss. There's something very weird going on, and I'm not sure if we know the extent of it yet.

The scientists mention the administrator a lot in HL, too. At the beginning you find out that the Administrator is the one who funded their project, and he/she is also the one who sent in the military to "clean up" the mess.

A few interesting things:

1. The scientist said there is a powerful being who controls the teleportation portal. We assumed it's the Nihilath, but could it be someone else?

2. We never really saw the Nihilath die. He could have survived.

BTW it's easy to hear what he says in the WAV files in pak0.pak.

oh you mean maybe when there was giant blue and green things coming out of him he might just have been happy you rpged him in the brain? :p

He's gona be back. Just watch.

In the last episode of hl, G-man will tell Gordon that he's his father.

Nihilanth: FRRREEEEEEEMMMMAAANN!
Freeman: What?
Nihilanth: DIE! YOU ALL....DIE!
Freeman: Yes, I know. Not me, hopefully.
Nihilanth: YOU WILL LEARN FREEMAN, YOU WILL LEARN....
Freeman: Eh?
Nihilanth: YOU ARE MAN, HE IS NOT, FOR YOU HE WAITS
Freeman:Who? Huh? Oh, well I think ill just shoot you. OK?
Nihilanth: GAAAAH! (explodes)

"Nooooooooooooooo! That's not possible!"

how do i get to nil_thetruth.wav or nil_last.wav? What do i have to do to access these files?

Why do threads like these stay here?? This is a Half-Life 2 forum, goto the off-topic forum.

Man, I thought there were already threads like this. Shouldn't it be closed like my "useless" threads?

I also have to ask how to open these wav files because I could've sworn the only thing Nihilanth says is "Frreeeeeemaaaaannnn" when you teleport right into his hands... Were these other bits said later? Or did they never make it into the game properly?

And Sirdenchalot? You sound awfully bitter... Have some tea.

I wouldn't suggest looking in the Pak files as some of the things Nihilanth says in the Pak file weren't used in the game.

Gman: No, I am your father!
Freeman: No....No...that's not true!!!! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!
Gman: Search your feelings, you know it to be true!
Freeman: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! *crys*

But in Decay Rosenburg calls in the Military , maybe the Administrator just changed their orders. BTW , if you havent played decay Rosenburg is the guy you meet at the very end of Blue Shift.

How dare Decay not be available on PC. Grrrr.
Probably a pile of w*nk but that's not the point.

That is interesting, I remember the moving lights as well, and I've never seen them mentioned on the forum before. There's never been any explanation for them even though they were present in Opposing Force quite often, and perhaps once or twice in Half Life. Perhaps they were just put in for decoration but I'd be skeptical about that.

Personally I don't think they were guiding Freeman or Shephard, but pieces of energy travelling between the ruptures in the worlds. Anyone who has read His Dark Materials may know what I mean - the lights wouldn't normally be travelling but since the world has been ruptured they are able to. Although I have no idea where they may be going to.

Maybe the troops were already inbound when Rosenberg called?

Also, the OP4 boss is often called a resource gatherer for some reason.
Perhaps those lights are used to carry the resources to him through the vents?
