Watch out for fake halflife2 keygen

Saw that there is a keygen out now on the major torrentsboards for halflife2.
This keygen contains a virus (bad worm) so don't download it for you're own sake.

I'm not suprised, it would be very difficult to make a keygen at the moment since there are no retail boxes, the only keys that could be gen'ed are the ATi keys. However those are quite rare and it would be impossible to source enough to make a decent analysys.

Also the key authentication is probably done at server side, so reverse engeneering Steam to find the algorythm is impossible.

Considering HL2 hasn't been released yet, and none of the warez groups have released HL2 yet, it would be rather *ahem* difficult to make a keygen for it. The leak doesn't require a cdkey either, so why anyone would download it is beyond me.

I thought Razor was down for count? Anyway, if anyone breaks it, I doubt it'll involve CD-Keys since (according to my closest store) no HL2 games in at least the first shipment will contain any keys at all since you don't need them to activate it in Steam. Dunno if that's true. How else are you supposed to activate it? Bah they deserve the worms.

anyone with a brain can easily get rid of a worm or virus so its not like the people who downloaded it are going to jump out their window.
But it will still be funny.
