Water Hazard - stuck

hi guys, i probably need a little help.
I reached an outpost, where a vortigaunt is supposed to mount a gun to my boat.
Seems like i missed a trigger: the other persons are talking to me, but the vortigaunt doesn't move.

I already tried out to using an older savegame, but that bug still occurs and keeps me from reaching the end of that level.

Do you have any ideas how to fix that?

Verify the cache integrity. To do this right click on the HL2 icon in your steam games menu , select properties , then select local files then verify game cache. This may or may not work though , keep that in mind.

Have you gone into the little hut? The guys is supposed to give you a little speech in there while the gun gets attached.

You mean the hut with all these maps at the walls? Already thought about if it might be the reason because it looks like there is somebody supposed to be, but unfortunately nobody's inside. Seems like I either have to skip the level or get a savegame which is located after that event. Both resulting in a missing speech of that guy but ... who cares.

Did you try what Mech Man suggested above? That will probably work.

Try validating the files

Try walking around into the hut to set off the trigger

Try loading an earlier save point

Try opening the console and typing 'map ' without the ' marks, and choose d1_canals_0X whatever the numbers are for the canal maps. Pick the map you are up to in that chapter (just choose randomly till you find it, I can't remember what bit it is, sorry).
