at the end of this month, i will be getting a nice juicy paycheque(not meaning to brag)
should be roughly £190-£250 , well see how much more overtime i squeeze in through my exam-leave.

but neways, im thinking of upgrading to watercooling.
- CoolerMaster AquaGate WaterCooling System -
there was a review on it in the PCGamer mag. but unfortunately it does not like standard distilled water, it wants some other non-conductive compound, which is rather rare.

i was looking at the WaterChills and they get real good reviews everywhere. but, im spoilt for choice, there are so many ktis to choose from

my PC has 2 x 80mm fans by the cpu, on on top of other, one 80mm intake. and 4 ( in a 2 by 2) 80mm fans by the HDs

currently, its only CPU i wish to cool (and overclock  ) and probably soon the chipset, then eventually the northbridge. (as my money comes in of course)

what kit should i get? a dual radiator/fan? the 80mm duals are a bit more rare than the 120mm ones. www.overclockers.co.uk and www.microdirect.co.uk and www.dabs.com seem to sell them.

i would like to hear your opinions and views, and from there will decide what to buy.

Whats up Furious.

you are going to laugh, but I'm serious

If I were you...

Do it ghetto style man

I would go for the other upgrades

here is your PC cooler:

Take off your PC cover

Put a $8 box fan right up to the side of it

lol

along comes my 4, er 5, er 6? year old bro
zzzzap
lol

*(sarcastic) I see you're very close "4,5?? 6?"

that will teach him to stay out of your room

heh, ok sorry, can't help you then bud

if you starting out get a qoolermaster aquagate, it comes with a cpu block and can be upgraded with north bridge and most likeyl a gpu as northbridge and gpu are the same size

Tbh i've used the watercooling kit mentioned, and it only brought my CPU (AMD 64 3000+) temps down like 2°c from fan cooled, it didn't even help over clocking! Trust me, just get nice decent HSF and some decent fans and upgrade your ram or something. It'll be worth it in the longrun.

Do it at your own risk.

Disclaimer *If you do remove your PC cover:

! If anything conductive to electricity alows a bridge between two contacts, while the power is on, there is 100% chance that component will be damaged.

! (Do not allow anything to fall inside your PC)

Do it at your own risk.

Your results may vary.

Hey Furious,
I've got another crazy idea I wanted to run by you...

Once again you're going to laugh...

Aight you know how companies use climate controlled rooms to keep thier servers cool?

Well that gave me an idea

Aight so you put your PC in the refrigerator.

lol

Now hear me out

If this is a bad idea, IM JOKING

If this is a good idea, I'm serious!

you know those compact refrigerators that alot of college students buy for thier dorms...

they are selling for as low as 50$ now

Now I already wanted one of these refrigerators to keep my beer and t.v. dinners chillin, so why not.

You can keep your PC in there and run the wires out the door or something

Hell, to use as a game drive, you could even get that external DVD RW you wanted and you dont have to open the 'fridge all the time.

I would get one of those small refridgerators with brushed steel doors.

Is there alot of moisture in there?
that couldn't be good, although I know some of them have a humidity control.

The CD-ROM will not work if the lens it gets foggy untill it clears up.

Well anyway, although quite wierd, it might work.

LOL

You could overclock all you want man. it will be a crisp 38 degrees !

Your results may vary.

Now before some of you want to jump in here and insult me, I don't recommend it. I will put your head in my fridge, next to my PC.

lol

nah- too much moisture- i had thought of that tho aswell aye

lol it was a good laugh.
there are a few reasons why it wont work in afridge . . . blablabla. . . . fridges only keep things at a constant temperature. if u put in warm milk, the fridge will cool it down, then keep it cool. the milk doesnt get try and get warmer like a CPU.

but thats statin the obious, and you know that, dont u?
lol it was a laugh.
about the aquagates, i hear they can NOT be upgraded, they only come with a CPU block and no room for upgrades.

hey, ive got a massive chest freezer in the garage, il give that a try :P

A fridge has a fan on the back that blows the hotness out. It will continue to try and keep the temperature at the value you set.
OR if not adjustable it will continually try to keep the factory temperature setting.

I may try it, Put an obsolete computer in the refridgerator for a week or two, just leave it on... see what happens

LMAO

Don't do it. Waste of money. High maintenance. If you don't know how to custom pick a good package FOR YOUR OVERCLOCKING NEEDS (and I mean serious overclocking), don't bother.

Dude - Your looking at kits (exceptions are like Danger/Maze/BlackIce/etc. kits simply packaged by a dealer to save a few bills). You're not ready for watercooling.

experience can only be gained by doing it. within the next 12 months i will most likely be building myself a new PC and then will have more knowledge, including 1st hand experience, to know what to get and what not to do.

itll be a laugh (but who will be laughing, that is the question)

the aquagate uses non-conductive liquid btw.
