theese lines keep going down my screen like every 10 secs after i installed new vid card. Its actually not very visable but im just wondering what it is caused from and if there would be a solution to theese lines.Any thoughts?

refresh lines.

Try Changing the refresh rate through windows display properties. When you move your mouse what you're seeing is the image of the pointer being refreshed many times over, giving the illusion of movement. Likewise the animations you see. If you refresh at 100Hertz, you will see a very smooth movement compared to 65Hertz. However overdoing this can beget a video card to monitor conflict making lines running down your screen. Try also changing the bit of color used, acceleration, drives, and ext. If all else fails reinstall your video card with old drivers, or reset your computer back to a date where you didn't have these problems. I hope this helps, if not PM me and I'll study into your problem.

k thx for the help and ya ive tried using diff refresh rates didnt seem too help

I was having the same problem. Well, if you have any forecent tubes/bulbs on that can contribute to your problem. Because they blink out of sink with each other, it produce those lines. I dont know if thats your problem, but i hope it helps sombody.

no thats not my prob but thx anyways and i can hardly even notice the lines so i dont think it matters that much

its probably ur monitor.. ur do u have the latest directX ? or update ur video card

there is no problem, per say. If what i think is happening is happening its just magnetic lines on your monitor. YOu could try to de-gauss, but some monitors have them, they can be annoying sometimes, youve just got to live with them

k thx guys and i have dx 9a and latest catalyst drivers. i think its just my crap monitor.

Well, if you have money use it as an excuse to buy a new monitor =D.

Try turning V-Sync (vertical synchronization with your monitor's refresh rate) on. You can usually find this option in your Vid card's control panel.

My cell phone makes my monitor do that, especially when someone calls, it starts making wavy lines right before someone calls, makes you think...

what a cawinkydink, me 2, exactly.

EDIT: It's probibly a driver issue, you know dell, new driver every year.

Is your monitor a crt or lcd? I used to have this problem too but using the settings on my monitor got rid of the lines, try looking through the monitors settings for clock and change, and adjust those 2 settings along with any kind of test pattern (makes it really easy to see the wavyness)

ya i dont know where theese settings are and my monitor is a crt
