We are smaller than the movie industry? Bullshit.

Thats in part true and in part rubbish.
The money goes to publishers, its them with the big cars and gold chains.
Also people buy old films on dvd, but nobody buys old games.

Its common knowlege that the games industry is WAY bigger then the film industry.

Yeah, no kidding. The film industry is incredibly small in comparison, but it does recieve more glory and fame however. Moviestars and stuff are proof of that.

By the way, I couldn't find whatever article you were mentioning about in that link, where is it?

Last I heard we were bigger than the movie business by quite a lot (games are at about 10B), but not bigger than the movie business, DVD business, and rental business which all make about 20B put together.

2004 will be the second year (2003 being the first in history) that the VG industry surpased Hollywood in revenue. But that doesn't mean the industry is as big as hollywood. It costs CONSIDERABLY less to develop a game than it does a major motion picture.

Maybe because the number of people that it takes to make a movie is much bigger, think of all those people's wages over however many months/year it takes to make the movie. Plus the millions you have to pay Brad Pitt and whoever else is in the movie. Video games don't need such a big team, although I guess teams will get bigger the closer to photo-realistic graphics we get.

Just scroll down. I think you're to late, www.actiontrip.com might've moved down to a new page.

The thing is they have been saying that that the gamesindustry is bigger than then the movie industry for years and each year it's bs, we are not bigger, not in the amount of people working in the industry, not in the amount of revenue, just like the booksindustry is still way bigger than the movie industry although nobody thinks so.

H-Wood has been instilled into fear because of the gaming industry, size or not. Expect their opinions to be biased to some degree.
