just finished listening to carry on a life less plagued
god it's amazing

Carry On - A hardcore band.
A life less plagued - Their new album
Meh, not my kind of music, but I shan't bash it.
Enjoy.

Fans of harcore music.

Personally, I'm not a big hardcore guy at all. I enjoy a good amount of metal, but hardcore is just too... hardcore D:

Plus, I am sorry, but slamdancing is just f*cking stupid :|

I like happy music.

And I thought this was going to be a porn thread.

You suck.

Oh em gee, 5000 posts

Well I thought this was about the English comedy of Carry On. Well Im disappointed.

Agnostic Front rule, fair doos if you don't like hardcore it takes a bit to get into

Ive always liked it. The first album I ever bought was a Sick of It All.

Sick of It All and Agnostic Front = **** yeah.

And Black Flag. That's the only hardcore I really like.

Seeing Sick of it All twice this year. :D

minor threat is forever.

also, moved to the appropriate forum.

I like happy hardcore. Random songs that I've picked up over the years, like the tetris remix and stuff. It's all good.

Minor Threat and Black Flag are two immense bands
as for happy hardcore, it has its moments ;)

Im seeing them once, which will bring me to a grand total of 5. They seriously get better every time.

You win. :( I was going to see them last year, but I didn't. :\ There was no B'ham date and no one wanted to travel to Nottingham or London.

Well I was calling all those bands hardcore.

And don't be dissing Henry Rollins. He'll **** you up o__o.

EDIT: That band sounds a bit grindcore.

the one thing I cant stand is when people confuse shitfake wanabe hardcore for real hardcore

emo metal, yea you know so much. Do you even know what hardcore is? These bands (which are similar to number 12) will kick the shit out of your hardcore bands any day of the week.

http://www.purevolume.com/throwdown
http://www.purevolume.com/terror

Or are they sissy emo/indie/elektro/punk/pop band?

Is that not what hardcore is?

To each his own, but I hate it when music is generalized and labeled.

"NO, it's ROCK!"

"NO, IT'S HARD ROCK!"

"NO YOU IDIOTS! It's Hard Glam Rock."

"Puh, what do you know, it's Paprica Rock!"

What the hell exactly IS hardcore?

You could say that Black Sabbath is hardcore. They're a hardcore blues band.

Screamo?

yeh throwdown and terror are hardcore
throwdown are sold out beyond all belief, the "straight edge" band with only a couple of straight edge memebers.
terror used to be good for their first album lowest of the low when they had todd jones from carry on, now theyve gone the way of throwdown, completely sold out and their music is shit, its all about how hard do ya wana be.

I used to listen to a ton of hardcore back in the day; bands like Earth Crisis, Strife, Ensign, FloorPunch, Painstake, Warzone, 108, Resurrection, Dead Kennedys, Negative Approach, The Germs, The Circle Jerks, 7-Seconds, Murphy's Law, GBH, The Exploited, Crass, The Faction, FEAR, Broken Bones, MIA, DOA, and many many more. It went hand in hand with skateboarding. I still listen to the not-so-straight-edge stuff because its more timeless for me.

The crossover of hardocre punk and metal was definitely one of the best things to ever happen to music. Bands like DRI and CoC blazed the way for the thrash metal movement and I cannot thank them enough for it!

That was in no way whatsoever Grindcore. By listening to that Takedown page, it seems that Hardcore and Metalcore are just a single amalgamation.

Wild in the Streets by Circle Jerks is win.

AWESOME BANDS!
I know what you mean about the not so straight edge as well.

check out my band (sig) and see whatcha think

I think you confused people here sam. Everyone thinks you're talking about hardcore, not hardcore punk.

Regular hardcore sucks.

Hardcore? Wah!? You mean Abba and stuff like that...?

well it's all the same really, hardcore punk and metal have pretty much merged into bands like the warriors

yay see now were friends :)

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Refused!

If you need a good definition of hardcore, you need to get the "Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent" and "The Shape of Punk to Come" CDs.

I was loathe to lump a band like the incomparable Refused into any genre. The Shape of Punk to Come is the absolute best album I have ever heard.

In relation to the almighty Black Flag, I saw Henry Rollins over the weekend at Download. ****ing awesome. Seriously funny guy. Couldn't help but agree with pretty much everything he said.

Now I just need to see a Jello Biafra spoken word set. :D

Shit, I wha..need to check out these bands, I mean I have had a recent liking towards, hard-core/post-hardcore.

If anyone can recommend me other bands that I should check out. I really like stuff, that have strange melodies, jazz chop chords and other crazy stuff when it comes to this genre.

Also, recommend me some good post-hardcore bands if you can.
