DeusExMachina said:Sick of It All and Agnostic Front = **** yeah.
And Black Flag. That's the only hardcore I really like.
bryanf445 said:you call black flag hard core?

bryanf445 said:emo metal, yea you know so much. Do you even know what hardcore is? These bands (which are similar to number 12) will kick the shit out of your hardcore bands any day of the week.

http://www.purevolume.com/terror
Or are they sissy emo/indie/elektro/punk/pop band?
calls LA’s Black Flag (formed in 1976) the music’s “godfathers”
That was in no way whatsoever Grindcore. By listening to that Takedown page, it seems that Hardcore and Metalcore are just a single amalgamation.DeusExMachina said:Well I was calling all those bands hardcore.
And don't be dissing Henry Rollins. He'll **** you up o__o.
EDIT: That band sounds a bit grindcore.
AWESOME BANDS!VictimOfScience said:I used to listen to a ton of hardcore back in the day; bands like Earth Crisis, Strife, Ensign, FloorPunch, Painstake, Warzone, 108, Resurrection, Dead Kennedys, Negative Approach, The Germs, The Circle Jerks, 7-Seconds, Murphy's Law, GBH, The Exploited, Crass, The Faction, FEAR, Broken Bones, MIA, DOA, and many many more. It went hand in hand with skateboarding. I still listen to the not-so-straight-edge stuff because its more timeless for me.
The crossover of hardocre punk and metal was definitely one of the best things to ever happen to music. Bands like DRI and CoC blazed the way for the thrash metal movement and I cannot thank them enough for it!
sam_justice said:yeh throwdown and terror are hardcore
throwdown are sold out beyond all belief, the "straight edge" band with only a couple of straight edge memebers.
terror used to be good for their first album lowest of the low when they had todd jones from carry on, now theyve gone the way of throwdown, completely sold out and their music is shit, its all about how hard do ya wana be.
I was loathe to lump a band like the incomparable Refused into any genre. The Shape of Punk to Come is the absolute best album I have ever heard.ACLeroK212 said:I can't believe nobody's mentioned Refused!
If you need a good definition of hardcore, you need to get the "Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent" and "The Shape of Punk to Come" CDs.
