How so?

The files can't be loaded or exported in any editors/model viewers?

heh, okay :smoking:

So, any takers? I thought multitudes of people would know this one.

well first get a model decompiler ( there are a few out there ). then decompile the model so you have the .smd, then get a vtf2tga convertor to change the .vtf texture file into a .tga

if all thats done , you can import it into 3dsmax ( dont ask me how , i use maya ... look for a smd importer :p ). Now do your editing , and then export to .smd and try to get it in the game.

( this is how it works , i dont know the details ... i use Maya and im still trying to figure it out myself :p )

Thanks.

And please let me know if you succeed in getting a weapon into your graphics program, animations and all.

I've already succeeded, many times. Just press 'import smd' in Milkshape, and edit it/export it to whatever file type you want for opening it in.

I tried Import SMD in Milkshape, but I can't find any .smd files.

As a trial, I opened models.gcf and extracted all the Shotgun files I could find, but they are all .v__ files (.vxx) or .mdl and milkshape doesn't recognize them.

I tried "Import Serious Sam .mdl" but it didn't work. I selected the model, imported, but couldn't find the mesh in the scene.

Ah ok, thanks.

Hey, they also have a 3dsMax SMD Importer/Exporter - w00t! :P

for the 3dmax importer you have to convert all textures to .TGAs and place them wher your SMDs are....
