This whole "its damaging to society" thing is incredibly niave.

Making something illegal does not make something less damaging! If people want to do something then they will do it regardless, illegal or otherwise. At least when its legal we have an element of control over it.

Instead of tagging these people as "criminals" (which quite clearly the moderate users are not), we should be helping the folks that go a bit off the rails to get back on them again. Hash is not any more addictive than alcohol, or even sex (which also has "high" type effects), and those who become dependent are no different from an alcoholic. Funnily enough we don't lock them up.

I find that absurd.

That's just silly and irrelevant. Why do ppl insist on comparing the two drugs?

Drugs damage the brain, beer/alcohol is a temporary stimulant.

That's where the whole addicted thing come's into play again.


Ozzy Osbourne is a good example of what happen's when you do drugs for too long.

maby if they legalized it then drug dealers would be out of a job, most of the drug dealers i know only do weed and it's not like they can really move onto selling anything harder because there is little demand for it where i live. I know some people take shrooms and E, but not on a regular basis.

Personally I only smoke weed when it's offered to me, which isn't very often, but I also smoke cigars occasionally. So the two combined proberly increases my risks of getting cancer, but not by much, so i really don't give a ****.

Thats a very diplomatic response.

I just think it should be decriminalized. That would mean that you dont get a criminal record for it. If you have a criminal record it can hinder you in a lot of ways. Say you tried pot way WAY back in the 70s and one of you relatives in Canada suddenly died. You go to visit but your stopped at customs/the border. They look you up and see you have a criminal record, BAM, your not getting to pay your final respects.

Just one reason it should be decriminalized.

Ugh, I can't stand pot heads. It is obviously a gateway drug, and if you can't have a good time without drugs, well, your just sad. Anyways, about half my school takes weed so I'm around it a lot, and I can't stand it.

First of all, i drink but i have never taken any drugs apart from alcohol and any medicines i need.

Alcohol is a drug and can cause serious damage to your liver, you can get a 'fatty liver', alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis. It isn't good for the nervous system either.

As for weed, i'm not a fan of smoking anything, the negatives far outweigh the positives when it comes to puffing on something
