Week of single player

I'm moving house next week and unfortunately I will not have internet for that first week. As most of the games I play are multiplayer only I need to buy a new single player game or two. My budgets a bit stretched atm as you might imagine with buying a house, so I don't really want to spend more than £20 or so.

So the question is, what would you buy, on a budget of £20, to satisfy your gaming fix for a week where there's no net?

Do you want something that will only last you a week or something that will be worth your money? Because there are definitely a lot of SP games that you could finish in a week, but there are other games that might take you a month or longer. Also it depends what type of games you play.

Minecraft. Save the important wiki pages to your HD, and then do some building projects. £12.70.

X3: Terran Conflict. £13 on Amazon.

Fallout: New Vegas.

Do you like football? FIFA 11 for PC is good with the 360 controller. It's basically the 360's FIFA 10 ported to PC.

Strategy games usually waste the most time, so you could try these if you're into that. Civ 3/4/5, Knights of Honor, Anno 1404/1505, Caesar IV.

Just play through Half life, and its episodes but getting all the acheivements and easter eggs

X3: Terran Conflict. £13 on Amazon.

^This. Not enough people try X3: Terran Conflict, it is a great game and quite the bang for your buck. I just reinstalled it.

I'd recommend-

X3: Terran Conflict, if you are into space exploration, FPS flight combat, evolving economy, steep learning curve, and very slow progression. X3:TC is like Warband, only in that the game never really ends unless you somehow manage to dominate all the maps and completely control the economy. There is a lot to do.

Mount and Blade: Warband, if you like RPG's, medieval settings, melee combat, and slow but constant progression.

Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl or Stalker: Call of Pripyat, if you like survival and shooters. SoC if you want something longer and slower, but with more story and more to do, CoP if you want something shorter, quicker, but certainly more direct action and better mechanics (thats what she said). Either way, you will have to mod them.

Fallout: New Vegas. Tons of stuff to do, several different paths. If you like shooters and you like RPG's, you'll have fun.

Assassin's Creed 2+ Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, My name a Ezio Auditore Fettucini Alfredo Sauce. If you like Religious conspiracy theories and climbing buildings.

I wouldn't recommend Assassin's Creed 2 or Brotherhood if he's going to lack a internet connection at the new house for any length of time - both games still attempt to connect to the Ubisoft servers on startup and if it can't it won't start up the singleplayer campaign.

The other games are all good in that aspect as far as I remember, though.

The last time I reflected on my life I did go out, and ended up with my current girlfriend. Why do you think I'm having to buy a house? You trying to bankrupt me Rizzo? This post is clearly nothing more than a transparent attempt to buy my house at auction for cheap once I'm destitute. How dare you sir! How dare you!

If you get X3:TC, check out the mod community, it is massive. You should not play vanilla in my opinion, and at least should install this to make the gameplay more enjoyable-

Mass Effect 2? If you look around you can probably get both games for that price, and there's easily over a week between them. First still sucks though.
