Hey guys. I figured since my last idea to start a weekly discussion of the photoshop contest turned out to be a success, maybe I could try another idea on for size. I propose that people post ideas publicly on this post. I know before they were supposed to be emailed to spud, but I figured if everyone could see the other ideas people were coming up with, they could come up with new things they hadn't thought of before. Spud or whoever can check here periodically any time he needs a topic. So with that, here are my first ideas.
Also, imho I think it would be cool to keep most of the contests themed to hl and hl2, but all of them don't have to be.
1) Take something from half-life and add it into a scene from a photo, or put something from real-life into half-life.
example: put a headcrab in a hamster cage, or add your best friend into the lambda complex.
2) Morph 2 or more aliens/people from half-life into one entity.
example: gman's head on a zombie
3) Blend multiple photos together to re-create a scene from HL, and then add back in any monsters that were in the original picture. This is different from #1 as in the first one, the alien could be anywhere, this one is supposed to be in an environment that looks like something out of hl, but is a photo.
example: adding a houndeye into a picture of a dark hallway, and adjusting the floors/walls to look like something out of hl.
4) Create a piece of concept art for a new level design in hl2 based inside the lambda complex, or outside in that new city in hl2, or somewhere else. It may or may not be based off of old game levels. This would just be one view of a certain part of the level.
example: drawing a small section of the city seen in the traptown video as concept art for that level
Some of these sort of overlap eachother, but if they are chosen, the other doesn't have to be used of course.
-------------------------------------------------------
The format I think we should do this in is simliar to mine, to keep things simple for the mods.
1) Idea with simple description in bold.
example: put an example in italics below
2) Another idea.
example: another example
ect.
What do you guys think? The reason for the formatting is so it's easy to distinguish a post discussing ideas and those that are actually ideas. So get to work, post your ideas.
