In this weeks Steam News Update, Valve explains that these next few months "are looking like they will be two of the busiest months for Steam since the launch of Half-Life 2." Why is this you ask? Well, Ritual Entertainment’s first installment of the SiN Episodes, aptly named "Emergence", is scheduled to start its preload phase very soon and the full game is supposed to be released via Steam this May.[br]Switching developers now, but keeping the episodes strategy in mind, Valve's first installment of the Half-Life 2 Episodes series, given the title "Episode One" (I think it works), is also looking at its preload phase slated to begin a month before the games release. No specific release date has been given in this weekly update, but we’ve heard from Valve's director of marketing, Doug Lombardi, that the game is ready for a May 31 world-wide release… Yes, in 2006.[br]On to Valve’s currently released titles, specifically Counter-Strike: Source & Day of Defeat: Source, both will be seeing some new additions in terms of maps. Counter-Strike: Source will have a HDR-Upped version of de_dust, as well as two new player models, release soon. Day of Defeat: Source will be seeing a new map addition that will present a new style of gameplay.<br /[br]Lastly, Valve didn’t want to leave out its mod community, so they have given well deserved recognition to the Dystopia team for winning the 2006 IGF Half-Life 2 Mod of the Year. A big congratulations to them.[br]To see this weeks Steam Update, click on that little black and white square on your desktop, or simply click here.

Actually it's a square, which is a private case of rectangle. still, hl2.net need to set himself high standarts on the math front....

Great update btw, hopefully it'll be new models and not 1.6 models transformed into source, but for some reason I don't think it's going to happen.

Lmao... Don't know why I said rectangle.

Two more new models? Great, so it will be looked like the old CS. :)
I urge steam to enable HDR mode in ALL other offical maps as quick as possible!

Its either the last 2 CS 1.6 models or the 2 CZ models. Its a port so I doubt they'd make any new style models.

Hopefully, the Artic Avenger model looks hawt... and the GSG-9 model too! :p

Did Valve ever have that Match with the HL2 CTF Team on HL2TV?
If not when is it?

Yeh, they did a really good April fools last year too...

Unless this is it? No HDR/Models/Gamemodes? Bah! That would of been ace.

This can't be a joke! They have to do better than that if it's an April Fools joke.

Which part is the april joke? Is it true that Episode 1 will start preload last april?

I remember last year when they said they were updating CSS to where you had to fill out a form to fix your broken gun. I can't believe Steam right now.. I'm quite disappointed. They need to put out another update.

the update last year, said they added the tactical shield :( I wish it was back in Source glory :p

What is the last year joke?
And this is certainly not a joke.
Lastly, I like the sucks shield.

The post itself is not the joke, the funny part comes when they delay the release for two months, then all the guys at Valve have a laugh at us thinking they'd actually come through on their word.

I think 'their word' is more of other people speaking for them, when they don't know what they're talking about.
