In this Steam Weekly Update, we have been enlightened with some new information regarding both Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source. Over the next few weeks, Valve will release it’s Source version of the map de_nuke for Counter-Strike. Also down the road is yet another new map, but for Day of Defeat: Source titled Argentan. Here’s a preview:[br]

[br]Also, there is a brand new game that is going to strut its stuff on Steam before the end of the year. We aren’t told what it is, but I’m sure everyone will like it.

Hmm same exact stuff they told us last week. 2 new CS maps coming in next few weeks...and new dod map in development.

wait a minute where's militia? the update didn't say anything about de_militia or the new models?

i was hoping for some screen shots of the new CS Source maps.
aw well...

Humm, now thats some info. Probably a game from another company. Could be a interesting thing. Cant wait for updates!

You are just so upbeat.

:p PS, I'm guessing Sin Episodes....all in all, great news, both games I don't play anymore :p

Why can't I download the SAS and Guerilla models for CS right now? Huh? Why not?

It's no mystery about Sin Episodes being released through Steam, it might well be Dark Messiah they are referring to tbh. Valve are keen to use Steam as a distribution platform for other peoples games as well as their own, so it's not unlikely that they struck a deal with the M&M people. I'm not sure on the exact figures, but steam has a few million regular users. From a sales POV it would probably benefit the M&M guys to offer DM via steam as they might garner a lot more sales because of the source engine connection than they would through box sales alone.

Good news as always.
While the "in a few weeks" thing is getting mighty old I just can't help but get a warm and fuzzy feeling everytime VALVe shows us some friday-night love.

Great news about new game before end of year. I would be extremely happy if it turned out to be either sin2:e or dmomm, but I kinda doubt it. I'm guessing it will be something less significant, if not for any other reason than to be a little pessimistic :borg:.

Doubt it as Dark Messiah isnt due out till next year (least thats what other sites say)and is being made by ubi who I think are also publishers, so unless valve did some super deal DM wont be released on steam

Your right, I just checked the date (my bad). Interesting that they are announcing another game though....I wonder if it's in house (TF2) or external.

Don't double post.

Heres a thought, try checking the posting dates.

Here's another thought, maybe this is news and should have an announcement? (it's been up on steam for a while).
Agreed Beerdude, uplink is the dogs. Maybe they might release that via steam as well :D

Here's another thought, why don't you PM one of the content writers and see if its news worthy?

I PMd Smash as it seems like he's the only one doing any reporting these days

GJ Sulkdodds isn't too busy being the post police.

Yeah, right, thanks for that.

Of course an actual non-sarcastic thankew is in order for bringing Darwinia up. I saw people talking about it and thought 'ohh, someone else must have posted it'. I was wrong, hence my 'god damnit' - 'god damnit why didn't I check'. :x Chris D's completely disappeared, Suicide42's broken his computer and I'm lazy plus been working on an article that isn't out yet because nobody can seem to find Chris despite the fact that he keeps coming on these forums if you check his last activity date.
