weeping confusion with mod

i don't understand at all. I have unzipped that JB55 mod into the correct directory (containing the hl2.exe file) (C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\*****\half-life 2\jbmod)



have edited my short cut target to read :

"C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 220 -game jbmod -console

In the game i type 'give weapon_pistol' and it gives me a pistol.

I type 'give weapon_physgun' and it says that there is no such entity.

What am i doing wrong???

i have the same problem. but i thought perhaps it was due to the fact i havent been able to update steam/hl2 cos im on a university proxy.

Same problem here... it seems that only some have this problem. So far I have the same problem with ALL mods.

ahah.... this could well be the problem, that's the situation i'm in. Uni Firewall stopping me from doing jack.

Why did you put -game jbmod -console? You only put -game jbmod. Then it should work...it does with me.
