Does anyone know if instrumental versions of Weezer songs exist? Hash Pipe, ideally.

Merci beaucoups!

Not sure about the instrumentals, but I do love me some weezer!

-Good day.

while in the conversation of weezer, did anyone hear their new song?
i heard its good :D

Beverly Hills? It's great :D

At least, I think that's the one.

just look for a midi player and a .midi version of the song and you can seperate the different layers of the song out

I was really disappointed with Beverly Hills. That simple, loud, and repetitive guitar banging really doesn't do it for me.

Yeah, bring back The Blue Album and the awesome Pinkerton!

Quoted for truth.

The new Beverly Hills is terrible. It doesn't even sound like a Weezer song, it just sounds like any mainstream run of the mill pop band. I guess I can just keep playing the hell out of their 2 good albums and try to forget that they still produce music.

Alright, seems I'm the only one who likes it. I agree it's not as good as their Blue album, but it's still good.

Oh yeah, I respect that. I wish, REALLY wish I liked the new song too. I don't know...it's not like it's a bad tune, because it is catchy...but it's just not Weezer...it sounds way too produced and repititive for weezer. Pinkerton is Weezer's climax, and in my opinion, it's been all downhill from there.

But no, keep jammin' Weezer if you enjoy it man.

Sure, I agree that Beverly Hills wasn't their best piece of music...kind of boring if you'd ask me, but still I think it's ok.

Just wait until you hear the rest of their new album Make Believe, which is going to be released on May 10th. It's going to be pretty good...at least better than their last two albums.

I'd have to say condemning a great band based upon a single new song is probably in the upper echelon of laziness.
Wait for the darned album. :D

I'm condeming a band upon a single new song...and the past 2 albums which have been underwhelming to say the least.

Who's condemning the band (apart from Bohonkie)? We're (including me) are just saying the new song isn't that good. Jeez.

This isn't the only discussion out there talking about it. Suffice it to say theres a lot of 'OMG WeEzer sUcks NOW!!' going around.

Well I wish they would, I really doubt they'll ever duplicate the success of The Blue Album, or even the extremely underated Pinkerton for that matter. You just can't top something so ground breaking for it's time. Just like Green Day will never top Dookie. Ever.

If you guys are looking for something to tide you over til Make Believe though, go pick up Ozma - Rock and Roll Part Three. Basically a Weezer clone (right down to the vocals) with a heavier emphasis on the moog. Although make sure to stay away from their "Spending Time on the Boarderline" album because it blows.

Since Matt Sharp left, they've fallen back on River's power-pop stuff, which isn't bad but their first two albums are far superior in context. In fact, you should really try and pick up Matt Sharp's own album, full of great acoustic stuff (very much like Beck's Sea Change), alternatively if you're into the power pop stuff - pick up Pat Wilson's own side project "The Special Goodness", a pretty nice lo-fi weezer sound.

I want quick results DAMMIT! I'm not hanging around to make an INFORMED decision, wasting my valuable time! Aaarrrgh.

I've recently started listening to a bit more Weezer... me like.

Wow...

Although "Make Believe," their new album, isn't to be released until May 10th, I have recieved an advanced copy of it, and I must say that it is absolutely amazing!

Forget about their last two albums, guys...Weezer is definitely back!

But do you consider Beverly Hills amazing? (I surely hope not...)

No, I don't. I think I posted my thoughts on Beverly Hills in an earlier post. I haven't even listened to it on the album yet. I would have to say it just may be the weakest song on the album. Once you hear the rest of "Make Believe," I'm sure you will soon forgive the Weez for Beverly Hills...if you were one who didn't particularly like it.

That's really good news. In fact, Best Buy had a little album preview in this week's flyer - You can go to www.bestbuy.com/weezer and here 1:00 samples of two of the tracks. Not overly generous, but I can definitely get the idea that the rest of the album is awesome.
