Weird Router Problems

Everytime I, or someone else around the router talks on the phone, we mysteriously get a "Network Cable Has Been Disconnected".
It seems to only happen when an active conversation is going on.
I use a Linksys, with Wireless connection.

We use wireless connection for my stepdad's computer, then the other 2 computers are connect with a ethernet cable to the router. The cablebox (Shaw Cable) is also connected to the linksys physically.

It seems to only happen when someone has an active conversation, nothing else.

My stepdad think's I'm crazy, and laughs at me, though, I'm gonna try to prove him wrong. I'm not lieing, this does happen.

Anyone got some ideas.

I bet you have a 2.4GHz cordless phone...Wireless networking B and G also run on the 2.4GHz radio band. Cordless phones and microwaves have been the biggest complaints of interference on wireless networks.

If you have a 900MHz or 5GHz cordless then it shouldn't be a problem.

I got a wireless phone, infact one in myroom on my PC with 802.11g, another in the living room, about 2m away from the wireless router, and no interfernce really.

Make sure all phone sockets and extensions have an ADSL (or whatever your type) microfilter.

And make sure your wireless router is as far away from all other electronic devices, especially ones operating on the same band, as possible.

What model do you have? I'd reccomend you get openwrt or hyperwrt for the wrt54g or 54gs

Having your router close to your speakers can be a major source of problems, for me, constant rebooting.

Again, since your problems only happen when somebody is on the phone, make sure every phone socket has a microfilter.
