weird texture error ingame

anyways, i got my model compiled ingame using the mp7 animations (just for test) but whenever my wpn points to a high intenity light source (the sun mainly) it becomes white. Anyone ever experience this?

i tried it with and without reflections, i got a envmapmask set up so i dont think its the vmts, plus i got it compiled for the pistol and it dosen't mess up there. I used the mp7 xsi scene.
 
That is very strange. I don't know what the problem is, I'm bumping this thread because it'll be useful to know the answer.
 
bleh, done more experimenting. Its fine when using "unlitgeneric" material so it's gotta be something with the model.

i also turned off all hard edges (smoothing groups are 180 degree now, for max n maya users) split my models into seperate parts instead of using clusters for materials (since im using 4 texture for the model)
 
managed to fix it (or at least i didnt get a weird angle so the lighting ****s up):

lol, and it was a stupid little bug. There were 2 instances of the g36 that overlapped perfectly which caused the vertex lighting ingame to **** up. I also changed the material to lambert instead of using constant (but i dont think it had an effect since only the name of the final vmt matters)
