What's the craziest, most confusing movie you ever saw?

For me it's definatelly Being John Malkovich. Here is a review from IMDB:

A puppeteer discovers a hidden doorway in his office, which turns out to be a portal into John Malkovitch (the famous actor)'s mind. Upon entering the portal, one gets to be inside Malkovitch's mind for 15 odd minutes. As with any great discovery of this century, the ultimate question immediately arises : 'How can we make money out of this?' He and his co-worker promptly set out to exploit this discovery. It doesn't take long for things to go haywire

Dreamcather was kinda weird, but great none the less.

The whackiest movie i have ever seen has to be Critters. - Little hairballs with sharpteeth from outer space that eat everything and roll around to move.

memento, and uhhhm, donnie darko, and fear and loathing in las vegas, yeah..

weird movies...oh, and a clockwork orange, weird.

Dont forget to consider The Wall , even though Ive never seen it , its Pink Floyd , that explains itself.

The Yellow Submarine by Beatles, well it's a cartoon, but it's so weird. The strangest thing is I was laughing the whole time, don’t know why, maybe because it was funny or maybe it was too weird.

Akira, not really weird but I still don't fully understand the plot. Also the Tetsuo-blob at the end freaks me out :|

i never seen it but my girlfriend saw this movie called hypercube 2 or sumpin, and these people are in a white cube with doors to other dimensions with the cube and they find themselves and stuff and one guy goes crazy and eats every one of himself that he finds "i'm so hungry!" and takes his watch everytime he eats himself and by the end of the movie he's got like 10 watches on his arms

Weirdest movie ... hmmm.

"Delicatessen" A French film made by Jeunet & Caro. They also made a bunch of shorts that is equally weird. Also they made "The city of lost children" ... weirder movies you have to look hard for. Thoroughly enjoyable.

"Dark City" By Alex Proyas who also made "The Crow".
"Mars Attacks" By Tim Burton. Not too weird, but weird.
"The Big Lebowski" By Ethan and Joen Cohen. One of the best/weirdest movies ever.
"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" By Terry Gilliam. Weird and lovable movie.
"Twelve Monkeys" Also by Terry Gilliam.

That is the weirdest movies i can think of. Also happens to be one of the best ones in my mind.

The bats at the start are funny :D After that it kinda drags on, halfway through I got the munchies and left.

Timecode is really weird. The movie is divided into 4 different screens and there is always something weird happening in one of them..

This one wierd french movie called Amelié

Being John Malkovich was great.
The weirdest bit was when Malkovich himself went through the portal.

Malkovich? Malkovich Malkovich. Hahaha.

Fear and Loathing, Donnie Darko and the original Cube (Cube 2: Hypercube was a weak rehash) are some of my fav's amongst weird movies.

Redneck Zombies - Wierd as hell..but funny!

Zardoz - lol gotta love the early days of Sean Connery

That movie is great...

It really makes you feel happy, and music is nice as well. And the main actriss audrey tautou is cute as well...

other than that:

Weird is;

Donnie Darko
(f you consider a 2 meter tall, standing black rabbit with pith black fur and evil face, who tells you the world is going to end in a month or so as weird...)

Eraserhead
(weird weird wierd. Its just weird and disturbing)

Pi
(wierd and disturbing)

Fight Club, wierd story and and disturbing

Blue Velvet
(has wierd scenes as well, especially the scene in the end)

Dr. Strangelove (stanley kubrick)
(A whole movie consisting of wierd personalities, wierd scenes, wierd story, wierd ideas and everything just wierd)

teh M4tr1X!!1!11!!!1!!!!!111!!!!!

nah, i'd say the Ring..... still don't get it

Probably Twelve Monkies....took me forever to get that. (Granted I was like 11 at the time, so I'm not sure it wasn't just because of that.)

Some people have already named my favorites, but I feel like seconding their motion for weirdness. So, my favorite "weird" movies are:
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (also a GREAT book)
Momento
Mullholand Drive by David Lynch
Lost Highway also by Mr. Lynch
Adaptation
2001: A Space Odyssey By Kubrick (Which is my favorite movie of all time)
Event Horizon is messed up at times.

Those are some of my favorites. Anything by Kubrick can be considered weird. I recommend going out and renting all of his movies.

its on Ch4 again in a few days, with the second one the next day. Have another go trying to figure it out (and its an excuse to watch it again :))

Oh I'm talking about the original Japanese version, not the mess Dreamworks made, sorry to my mates there, their all great guys but they know full well I think they screwed up big time with the remake. The jap one terrified me, the US one was as scary as Tiny Planets.

Battle Royale. A Japanese movie ( a follow up is due soon ) about a near future where kids have got so bad that the country is in dispair.

They get a bunch of school kids, known to be right little bastards onto a school bus saying it's a school trip then dump them on this military controlled island. Once there, the kids ( who don't know wtf is going on ) are ordered to step out and metal devices are secured around their neck.

They're taken inside a hut and given random bags - each one has a weapon but the weapons vary from hanggun, xbow to a spoon or bottle top. The kids are then told if they try to leave the island their neck device will kill them.

Instead to survive they have to kill each other - the remaining one will be freed. Some kids are freaked out by this and don't want anything to do with it while others take to it straight away on a mission to survive.

They're all sent out into the island and that's where the film begins. Fighting, horrific scenes, backstabbing, twists, etc etc.

Good film.

Infact, one movie I've just bought on DVD ( one of my fave's ) is Face/Off - The operation can be considered really weird ;)

I didn't think I'd like it at first, then watched the repeat on sci-fi channel and loved it, great film

if anyone hasnt seen it, its repeated on sci-fi channel (UK) again on the 11th November 12:05am and 26th December 11:50pm

Oh yeah City of Lost Children is pretty weird (made by the same guy who made Amelie apparently).

Street Trash, that has to be one of the weirdest films.

From Beyond,

Brain Dead,

The cars that ate paris

Cronos

The Asphyx

..to name a few

agree'd with the other guy about CoLC, thats a weird yet brilliant film

Hmm also Magnolia. It seems like a normal movie at first but it has one of those "WTF??" endings.

Bong's the little one, Bing's the big one.

If I drew a fuzzy Friggy, he'd delete all my games. Little bugger.

To be on topic: Bad Taste. That's weird too.

I thought the movie was horrible. The ending was predictable and boring. I hated it.

I have the book. They basically rewrote the entire story from the middle. The ending in the book was really, really odd. No Duddits alien.

I actually liked the movie better than the book.

Dr. Strangelove, LOL, that movie is amusing. Especially, the last scenewith the guy riding the rocket. haha

But the most confusing movies that I've seen would probably have to be Memento and Donnie Darko

The craziest movies I have probably seen are those by Aronofsky (sp?). He made Pi and Requiem for a Dream, both awesome movies, especially the latter - awesome soundtrack too by Clint Mansell and the Kronos Quartet.

some of these films you guys are mentioning don't have that really 'weird factor'...maybe i'm just a twisted person.

i thought Mulholland Drive was a little weird. but really anything by the Monty Python crew is completely out of this world. funny but, wow, they're so messed up.

some of them I don't see as weird, just different, though Street trash was a seriously f***** ** film, kinda like Basket Case only far more err weird heh

I suppose the weirdest of them all has to be Caligula, the weirdest part being how they got away with it and still had it catagorized as a mainstream movie and not porn

i don't find anything monty python did as weird or messed up, very funny though.. I suppose that means I must be a more twisted person. woohoo go me :D

Eraserhead, really, really, weird film.

I agree. It's been 20 some odd years since I saw Eraserhead. And I really don't remember it too well. But I do recall some of it, and it was very weird.

Heard lots of good stuff about battle royale. I saw the DVD in a shop, but it looked rather like another bad japanese b-movie to me (didn't know about the movie then). But now I read the movie got excellent critics ratings, and that it's considered to be the "clockworck orange of the 21st century".
