So I just watched my son's birth on March 31st, he was born happy, healthy, 7lbs 15 oz. and 20.5 inches long. He is just the most wonderful and amazing thing that has ever happened. It brought his mother and I so much closer, and we were just sitting here on cloud nine.

Then today, random woman knocks on my door, tells me she wants to see our house, I say what why? She says it is in the paper to be auctioned on the 21st of this month. Turns out, they have foreclosed on us, even though we had contacted Chase (our lender) and worked out a forebearance due to financial and medical hardships (I got laid off due to downsizing And his mother was put on bed rest)... Well to our dismay, they excellerated our foreclosure and we've not received one warning or notice. And in just a few short days we will be homeless, no money and no where to go, and no jobs to be found.

What to do..??

I still can't believe they do horrible shit like that to people, happened to my brother, but he atleast had our house to move back into..

I'd say get a hotel/motel when you have to leave, then look for a job fast. It's pretty much all you can do, unless you can move in with someone for a short while.

yea, this is the time to suck up your pride and go work at starbucks or anyplace that will hire you. Just remember, $6.50/hr is better than $0.00/hr.

I would go talk to somebody, if you know any lawyer people, and maybe you can get an extension or something on the foreclosure, because I would think if they never told you, they can't just kick you out like that.

call social services.. thats what I'd do.. but I don't know where you live.

Why weren't you told? Sounds fantastically illegal.

Dude, that sucks big time. you must be able to do something.

Maybe a family member, or a friend might be willing to help house you for a bit?

I've never heard of something like this...

Really sorry to hear that. Like ZT, the best option for you would be to get help from your family members or a close friend. If that doesn't work out, calling Social Services would be the best options. Go down to the place or organization that is messing you up, and giving your 2 cents worth would be the 1st thing to do imo.

**** thats horrible.
Id say what xcellerate said, you need a job.
And try contacting relatives or friends to see if you can crash there with your girlfriend and baby in the meantime.
Good luck dude,

This is terrible. Surely there is some kind of government service or charity that deals with this sort of thing, like temporary housing or legal aid.

ummm shouldnt you be contacting a lawyer instead of seeking advice from a gaming site?

I dont know maybe it''s just me but getting my house sold from under me would probably make me want to see a lawyer ..a close second would be to visit hl2.net for expert advice

We live in Kentucky, and at the time of posting, it was to late in the afternoon to contact any lawyers, we called one today and he told us that we could file chapter 13 bankruptcy, but we didn't make enough money to file for bankruptcy. We don't really have any family that can take us in... We are scrambling to figure this out, just needed somewhere to vent about it. I still don't know what we should do, we've been on the phones all day.

he told you to file for bankruptcy? did you contact a real estate lwyer? seems to me the first thing you should do is contest the foreclosure:your net worth is tied up in your house

Thats what I thought too, but they acted as though bankruptcy may be our only way out considering the short amount of time we have left to work this out. This is some scary stuff, Our lively hood is here, and thanks to circumstances beyond our control, we are going to lose everything. This will probably be the last time for a good long while I have the internets  I just wish there was an easy way to fix this, like why can't we just have our mortgage back, let us start over... we just need another chance, we aren't bad people, we don't run up enormous useless consumer debt. The only credit card debt we have was used to pay for food and utilities while we were down on our luck. Grrrr

This does sound like a bad case of "the good guy losing" in a sense. Hopefully you can contact a lawyer that will be able to help you, because like Stern said, this sounds insanely illegal. Hope it works out....if I wasn't a crazy man, I'd say you could chill with me...but yeah, I don't recommend it :p

Be a Sicilian. You know what to do from then on.

But honestly, Family members or really really good friends
