What about DOD 2 ?

I've only heard about Counter Strike: source using the HL2 engine but so far I haven't heard anything about DOD using the HL2 engine. Can u guys update me to whats going on regarding DOD for HL2 ?

Well, as far as I know, not much has been said at all. Other then DOD will be ported to source eventually. I think they had started on it, but don't hold me to that

awww no super-updated maps like css? I was thinking how cool it would be to see dod_charlie completley redone with bloody water on the shores and bodies all over the place and yummyummyawohohohooo...DoD source better be that good or ill die

Why wouldn't it be good? They made the original on such an old engine, imagine how fun it'll be on an engine that can actually handle it! And although valve won't say anything, I'm pretty sure cs2 and dod2 will be made, people tend to want to continue highly successful franchises. Although whether they will be free (w/ hl2) or not is hard to say.

I wish they wouldn't continue these mods as they all started from crappy mods made by a few people and were worked on and worked on until they became awesome mods then were took under valves wing, if they keep continuing these mods will they ever accept new ones ? will there be anymore big time mods??

There is a DOD source, it will be v cool, lots of redone updated sounds, and all new english voices too

Kelly Thorton is a really cool guy, he's got great stuff going into it. As soon as they're all done helping test HL2 and the source port of HL1, they'll be right back on it.

They won't be showing anything until after HL2 and CS:S are out the door. They're the biggest priorities for now.

What a great idea for them to work on some other game rather than the one they created. The dod team have been in bed with valve since 2001 and still they cant get a version to release with hl2.

Don't worry about that, the DOD team are hard at work, they're already doing stuff for DOD source, but the sooner HL2 is out the door, the sooner the engine becomes free to port it over fully.

:/ erm, no, the current ones are done by an american, and tbh, suck unfotunately they didn't have time to get any more realistic voices. But all voices re recorded sound excellent in full quality now, the other voice actors are great.
