Instead of sending E-mail to make sure the game is delayed why dont you phone Gabe or Lombardi?Find their phone number and give them a call.Maybe a moderator can call so that we will be certain its not fake.

I dont know about you but since VALVe has made no official anouncements we can never be certain.

Gabe would say "how the F*** did you get this number. *hangs up*" :D
nah, they probably wont answer :)
they might have 40 phones.

if someone does, tape it and put an mp3 here so we can all listen in!

Ah, so instead of spamming their email we flood the phonelines instead.

Great.

Well which do you guys hate more? E-mail spam or telemarketers?

It was an annoucement RELEASEd to the PRESS sent via E-mail from Doug Lombardi, the OFFICIAL VALVE PR Guy.

I say this again, as I've done before.

People are expecting a traditional response - something we've all commonly seen before. A traditional press release. Not an email. A traditional press release is more formal and often includes tons of bullcrap but sometimes there is nifty information included. Not an email, I repeat, not an email.

You are saying that Valve should just use more formal words so you'll believe them? Why?

There are no rules to make a press release. Let's ask Mr Dictionary.

press release
n.
An announcement of an event, performance, or other newsworthy item that is issued to the press.

They've done this. Accept it. It's Delayed, Valve told us. Using formal words won't be make any more or less delayed.

It is not coming out on the 30th of September.

What about the other guy who told work he has a dentist apointment and will not be there just to play HL2.Now if HL2 is delayed what is he going to do?

rofl at people taking time off work. Would you seriously have a game thats not finnished or a game thats perfect? I know which id rather have and for those spending money on upgrades its unlucky but games get delayed.

It's still coming out, for God's sake, so the upgrades are justified (if you upgraded JUST for HL2). If you booked time off purely to play HL2, then I don't know what to think. Who knows, for those people perhaps it's a blessing in disguise and they can use that time off for better purposes like gamboling about in what little sunshine is left before we're plunged into the darkest depths of winter... Unless you're South of the Equator.
Still: Time off to play HL2? Hmmm :hmph:

Yes but if Half-Life 2 is delayed people could have goten their Radeon 9800 Pro later, which means cheaper because of the 9900 Pro

Valve doesn't make press releases in the traditional sense, so you're gonna be waiting along time.
