well personally i'm going to look at my computer and drown in puddles of tears.....

i have a 1.7 gHz p4.....with windows 98......
a nVidia geforce 2 mx 400 ..........AHAHAAHAHA
512mb ram
just enough space on my hardrive to install hl2......
and yer..... a really really old sound card......

oh well... at least i can read the manual for a few weeks..... back to front and then front to back......

I did about everything on IGNs list, but what else are you guys doing, besides reformatting? Maybe any good Windows tweaks, anything goes, just as long as it helps to optimize your pc. I heard of making a new user to logon as and disable services or something...

Adding 512 pc3200 and replacing 4 80mm case fans with 2 120mm ones as well as throwing my Tornado fan back on the heatsink (since I will be using headphones). I'll try and push out a bit more OCing on the CPU and video card. The obligatory format/clean install. Probably a few Windows tweaks.

Probably about it really.
