What are the phantoms? Spirits Within

Anyone have a source of info for the phantoms in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within? i've googled my ass off and i can't find shit.

@Tenacious: Final Fantasy has nothing to do with Final Fantasy. It wasn't until X became a major hit did they ever create a game that reused any given universe, and that was a marketing gimmick. I do agree that it was very, very different from any of the FF games at the time, though.

The phantoms where, btw, the trapped souls of the aliens that where on that asteroid that hit Earth.

yes i knew the asteroid alien stuff, but i was mainly hoping for good all around pictures of them and maybe some story on why they were at war at stuff

The graphics haven't aged that badly considering the film was done 7 years ago. What other films have been made in the last couple of years (using CGI) that try to resemble humans and real life surroundings? I actually can't think of any off the top of my head.

Ahh, but you ignore the story of Spirits Within because it was rubbish. You ignore Advent Children's story because even if you upturned every hyper-rendered CGI rock, you wouldn't actually find one.
