Heavy-Russian
Sniper-Australia
scout-American
Pyro-German
spy-French
medic-American
demo-American
engi-American
Soldier-American

where do you think each may be from(what country inspired their design)
take in accents/weapons/taunt style too
 
Umm, this has already been discussed to death. I think the general consensus was:

Heavy: Russia
Sniper: Australia
Scout: New York
Pyro: Ambiguous
Spy: England
Medic: Germany
Demoman: Scotland
Engineer: Texas
Solider: America

I don't know how you could think the demo and medic were American...
 
Well, the flamethrower was invented in germany, so maybe the pyro is German?

Most psychotic arsonists seem to come from America though, so I'll say the pyro is American.
 
I haven't listened/played as the medic to much,and I only have 00:49 seconds of demoman time,I don't like him at all

I always thought the spy was more French-Italian.

And the pyro from Antarctica.

Yeah that's it, except I think that the Spy is French, although a lot of people think English so we'll have to wait for the "Meet the Spy" video to find out for sure.
 
Obviously they are all from America. Why else would they speak perfect english?
And no way am I playing a game not ALL-AMERICAN.

What the hell? How in a million years can the medic be American? He is German!

And I read that the scout is from Boston, not New York. Don't remember where I read that.
 
I was under the impression that the Spy's accent was franco-italian, although he just sounds 'european' to me. I think it was on Wikipedia, for what it's worth.

Possibly. Thinking about it more it makes more sense.
 
A French spy would work for me. I just assumed he was English because that would fall into the right cliche (James Bond, anyone?). His accent works either way though.

Scout is definately from New York though. His accent, rudeness, and impatience all fit with the New York style perfectly.
 
The spy is french/spanish, but has a bit italian too (for saying words like "prego", and "amigo") but somewhere I read a biography of the Spy on the net... Maybe TF2 wiki?
 
He's just a genericly foreign suave spy, imho. Isn't amigo also spanish?
 
Amigo is spanish, sorry, but this proves that he is not purely french or italian or spanish ^^
 
When the first TF2 trailers came out I thought that the Demo would be Middle-Eastern...guess it was too sensitive. Though I would've found it amusing, being an Arab myself.
 
Well it's not that uncommon (at least outside US) to mix either Russians with Arabs or anyone with dark skin with Arabs. Yeah, the last one doesn't actually make any sense but that's just how some people see things.
 
My first though on the Demoman was that he was a pirate themed character, what with the eye patch and all.
 
The only preson american is the scout. And he's like New Jersey. Or New York. The spy is totally french. As for the others, I think that Teta Bonita got it right.
 
Medic and Demo from America? Are you playing the same game as us? Even if you don't play those classes you can hear their voices throughout the game.

BTW he's calling you racist for associating rap/hip hop with black people. That's called a racial stereotype. But it was an obvious joke to begin with and you couldn't even figure that part out.
 
Jesus people, stop skipping to the last page, we've already gone over the fact that the Demo and Medic are not American.

The Spy sounds French to me. I have never met an Italian or Spanish person with the Spy's accent.

Plus, he always has a cigarette. If that's not French, I don't know what is.
