I haven't seen any real mothers day threads and since it is Mothers Day what the hay. I asked my mom what she wanted so I bought her the Da Vinci Code, it's even hard cover o0o0o, cost almost 70 bucks and it's what she wanted so she <3's it. What did you guys get your moms..if anything :O

I got my mom a card. :imu:
I still haven't given it to her tho.... :borg:

A card. And lots o love. My mother doesn't appreciate cheap tricks like candy. It's all about the love.

It's Mothers Day in Canada I believe? Got my heart going then for a second.

Well since my car has been broken and didn't get around to get anything this week, my dad got me a card this morning, hes a life saver :x

THANK **** jesus christ, i was preparing myself for an earbashing of my lifetime. Mothers day should be the same for all countries...

For the confused amongst us, I believe there's a different date for Mother's Day in the UK, USA and Canada :)

I got my madre some flowers she wanted, and a card of course.

What you need to give your mother for Mother's day is nothing. Go with me on this one.
You shouldn't feel you need to concentrate your affection for your mother into this one day just because you're supposed/expected to... What kind of display of emotion is that if it's obligatory!?
Your words and deeds should be able to be evidence enough of your love for your mum rather than some chocolates or flowers. Such amterial goods can never rival the depth of your bond and to try and express it as such would basically cheapen that bond.
I don't see how that makes me forgetful or selfish. Why if anything, that makes YOU shallow, mum.

Similar excuses/variations on this template can be used for forgottern valentine's days, birthdays, weddings, bah mitzvahs and funerals.

Although if you always use that kind of excuse it'll probably be YOUR funeral.

Who would you be giving gifts to at a funeral? ;)

el Chi obviously never had a girlfriend

It'd be your funeral if you tried that once, just once.

While I agree a boat shouldn't be required to express my love, a flower and at the very minimum a card is necessary. It's the thought that counts; she'll know for a fact that you went the extra step to show her that you love her.

Pff I have no job > no money so all I can give her is breakfast in bed and to perhaps participate in the family meal. I usually get my dad to buy it for me and then give it to her myself :p well it's better then nothing.

With my dads death I kinda forget about mothers day, think my mom did too or she would be bitching that I didnt get her anything.

It's not mothers day in the UK, we had that a couple of months ago. Paypal sent me an email telling me it was mothers day today, the idiots. It scared the hell out of me then I remembered i'd already bought her some stuff earlier this year.

 made me panic there for a sec. thank gawd its not mothers day, i;ve been forgettin too many things lately

This lad in my school asked someone else what she got her mum for Mothers Day, but only found out afterwards that her mum died of cancer. He felt pretty bad after that.

Not a damn thing...she doesn't deserve anything from me.

That show kicks ass! Spy sexiness.

Did someone say sex?..erm yes
/me runs

How come mother's day is on different days? why not have a unified day for all the world, makes more sense

Card companies invented it all anyway because they have no special cards to sell at rip-off prices between easter and christmas :(
