I just bought the domain afreegame.com and I have no idea what to do with it. I'm hoping to get some ideas. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with it? I guess the ultimate goal would be to get a lot of traffic to it and make money on it somehow. If someone wants to build a cool site, we can split any money it makes.

Make a competition that everyone who sends in 1$ will get 1 lottery ticket in winning something cool, everyone who sends in 1000$ gets 1000 lottery tickets to winning something cool. Possibly a free game? dunno.

The only problem is that it won't be a free game anymore. It will cost $1. Cool idea though.

"Please give 1$ minimum for your chance to win a free game!"

Sounds like the internet, no?

I'm thinking something along the lines of a game... which happens to be free...

if you want a lot of traffic i'd go for the pr0n!

but if you have decensy i'd make it into a place that has a lot of other links to other places or a place that has a ton of flash files and vids like ebaums or albinoblacksheep, either way you'd get decent traffic

Ill help you out with it Blag. If you got aim IM me @ ElementWanna3. or email me with the link in my signature.

how about you think of a website BEFORE buying its name?

makes sense, no?

why dont you just put links to loads of crappy flash games, then register it as an "educational site" so that BLOODY BESS DOESNT BLOCK IT AT MY SCHOOL??

in my school half the sites are blocked... even google image searches... and most MUSEUM SITES (why?)

Once you actually think of a website, it's almost impossible to get a good domain name for it. Most of them are already taken. More than a million people a month type in "free game" into a search engine. If I can get it listed near the top of the listings, that would be a lot of traffic and could potentially make some cash.

Whore it out to the porn/spyware/pop up ad companies and get a little money for it.

[NOTE: I have absolutely zero experience with running a site that I had to pay for :) ]

Personally, I would turn it into a free online arcade of sorts. You just need a few games and a good layout, and then try to get companies to advertise on your site. Find some good Flash, Java and Shockwave games on the internet, and contact their creators to see if you can use them on your site. The more games you get, the more people will visit your site, the more people will click on the ads, the more the advertisers pay you, the more money you get in the end.

Of course, there's also the fact that you have to go up against countless games sites on the Internet, but that's where the good layout/color scheme and good navigation comes in. There's countless games sites that I've gone to that have such terrible layouts or navigation that I just leave and never go back. If you could get a modest selection of fun games, I'd visit your site a couple times a week at least.

yes, if you made a site, id click on all the adverts loads so they like you :)

Thanks. Hopefully everyone would click on the advertisements ;)

I remember surfing *cough*roms*cough* sites and seeing "please click the ads to keep this site alive" :)

What do you think of this as a template? It was a free template and I just modified the tabs. I had to really reduce the pic quality to be able to upload it. It's not being hosted yet so I can't ftp it to a live site. I just want to get an opinion on the look of it.

Looks good! a little oldish in terms of internet fashion but I guess it's okay. :)

I don't have the time or the skills to create a template otherwise I would try. I found it on one of those sites where you could just download it for free. Most of the others they had were crappy.

Yeah, you can get someone to make one for you, like SilentKilla. I might help if you need it.

Also, if you make a decent site with some free, fun games you could get a lot of hits... there was an article in a recent Wired about free online gaming... pg 98 in June 2004. It's interesting even if that's not what you want to do. :P

I just want a site where people can go to play some fun free games. It will be great for people at work like me ;) . Just hoping to have the games in categories, and a person can find the game and click it. It will just take them to the game on sites like miniclip.com. I found other sites with games on them but they are full of popups. If you guys could come up with a cool template, I'm all for it. I could give props and links for you on the site.

Here's what I've got so far. What do you think? I had to ftp it to my other site so it can be viewed.

afreegame.com

Thanks. I wish I didn't have to be at work today so I could do more work to the site. I can only work on it before work and on my breaks. Hopefully it will be done soon. I still haven't figured out what to do with the tabs. It will have to consist of mostly links because it takes a lot of storage space to have the games on my site.
