What do i need to connect my ps2 to an HDTV?

Erm... You should be able to hook it up just like a normal TV. Just find the red/white/yellow cords, and hook them up to the red/white/yellow slot thingies. Simple! Heck, I can hook up my Nintendo 64 to my HDTV... Which also has directTV YAY DIRECTTV!!

or are you asking if you want to use the hd capability with your ps2? i think sony made some kind of adapter to do hd for the ps2. im not sure its in on the market though.

I think i heard something about the hd adaptor, but not much. Will the component cables connect to the same outputs that the standard AV cables do? I think the picture quality is much better with the component cables.

the component cables cant connect with av cables because the component only carrys video data not audio.
