What do other sites think of us?

EDIT: Bearing in mind that we are still searching for somewhere to live. Thats why the site is forum only at the moment.

Since i dont go to other forums much, i was wondering if anyone here knows what other members of sites that are dedicated to Hl2, or at least have a forum dedicated to it think of us over here at Halflife2.net. From looking at the amount of members and stuff, its obvious this place is popular, but sometimes, rivalry develops between forums, for no particular reason, perhaps sometimes its jealousy or something like that.

What i heard from munro before he left (i wanted some answers about .Dev hosting and so) is that hl2.net is gonna be hosted by homelan and everything is cool. The site will be online when Munro comes back in about 1½ weeks.

All the other forums I know of only have small HL2 sections... (very small). That's... 2...
Verc has a tiny area (80 threads) and planethalflife has 140 threads in total on the HL2 boards.

Maybe there's a REASON this forum is so big?

Edit: no wait, I know sierra had a HL2 forum earlier, now I cant find it though... It was pretty big, though horrible forum format.

Ive certainly found these forums a lot friendlier than others ive been to. Thats not just because im a mod and can shut up people i dont like...other places i went to had crappy mods who didnt care what people did, they just like to abuse their power.

I like the people here as its known there really arnt any other decent hl2 forums except for here, also Im curious to see what happens here when Half-Life 2 is released.

Well...i probably will do some ironing, but i always do ironing, otherwise i have creased clothes. When its released, il probably be here most of the time, being as i wont have my new computer when the game comes out. As Ive said in a thread a while ago, i preordered the game, so it will arrive on the release day but then it will just sit there haunting me until the new computer comes. My brother keeps telling me he wants to play it on his computer, because it will run it, just not to well. Its my game so no one is going on it before me. Also, i don't want to ruin the experience by playing it on a low quality setting.

Anyway, thats my little story over. Its a good betting that this website will be the place to be when the game comes out. By then the site will be back up...

Yeah, but they hardly ever post (unless you be him, but from the sounds of it you're Batman)... I would like to see a forum like Bohemia had for OFP, where all the devs where moderators and they had a big extensive bug report board where you could actually get fast response from the developers... And they sometimes took part in discussions. Not that much though, mostly just on the bug board.

Maybe the admin/owner of this board could come to an agreement with Valve? hl2.net hosts "official" forum for bugreport, and Valve may have devs that check it out... I know many boards (well all) have bug reports and technical forum, its just that 90% of it is pointless since no developer of the game is ever there...

But its wishfull thinking, once again...

Sidenote: I dont have Steam, maybe they have something that is like this. But I dont like steam.
