Hey guys, basic pole here for all u counter-strike players out there.
As many of you know steam had a counter-strike update today and for the most part it was a good update(unnesessary but good), but they made the damn crosshires bigger and i can't hit anything now. ITs really pissing me off cause out of the millions of complants about steams friends never working or steams laggy hit boxes they change the one thing they didn't need to.

Anyhow tell me what u think about the geniuses at steams latest update

I've been playing with cl_dynamiccrosshair 0 for a very long time now, putting it on doesn't change the crosshairs back to there old size.

Where's the "love everything but the headshot icon" option?? >.< The awp getting fixed after 5 years is awesome. So many people complaining about it though. The crosshairs I actually do better with the new ones so no complaints there. The headshot icon is just lame though.

fixing the awp quickswtich is like taking the railgun out of q3, its been there since the beginning and it should stay that way. Awpers that arn't cpl arn't that hard to kill anyway, you just wait them out or mp5 rush and if they are cpl they will get you awp or no awp.

Did they change the size of the crosshair? I thought that they only changed it to be non specular :O But anyways, what's up with the awp, I have not tested it after the patch? Also the new icon for HS is crap. Why change something the whole community is fancying already? And what comes to the new buy menu? I have always used that original and old (without any images), that's far more better than anything new imo.

There is now a two-second delay after you pull out a sniper rifle before you can scope it - all they need is an animation showing you pulling it up to your eye. The new buy system is F1 for autobuy (chooses best weps what you can afford) and F2 (rebuys previous equipment).

The cross hair fix doesnt work for me..Prolly cuz im using 1600x1200 res

Anyone who plays competitive CS will tell you that the quickswitch/quickzoom change has ruined a lot of strats.

My personal opinion is:

1) The new crosshairs are OK. They look a little odd to start with, but they're not better/worse, just different.

2) The new headshot icon is really daft.

3) Steam is pretty good technology, but they're misusing it. They need to pre-load updates before release, in the same way they pre-loaded CZ. Load the content into the *.gcfs, but don't activate it. That way, the load is nice and spread out, and on release day, the new update is just there, no catastrophic failure.
