What do you not like about this game?

WTF???

I was top of the server, and SHOULD have got gold, but instead, the server shows some guy who LEFT as getting gold, and ANOTHER GUY THAT LEFT as getting silver, so I get stuck with bronze.

I swear, this game is just so ****ing, GRRRRRRRRR!
 
Yeah, I got SO fed up with it. I was completely addicted, and hating it the entire time. Oblivion is SO much better- even more addictive, but there's nothing to hate :D :D :D

Not true:

Stat freeze bugs (very annoying)
Stupid scale-system
Stupid stat cap
Repetitive gameplay style... (it's probably just me, but after a little while the novelty kind of wears off, so I try to play in spurts)
Rare items become too common, scale problem
Miscellanous quest glitches (although to be fair, happens rarely)
UI was atrocious, luckily the UI mod saved me :D
etc etc...

Although personally I might be overly harsh, the game still rocks but the glitch / bugs I've encountered have really soured on me. My opinion's probably tainted, but whatever, they need to release a patch!
 
Gawd damit, this game annoyed me from day one.

1) The sniper rifle should be one shot kill - The difference's between them should be effective range, scope zoom level and rate of fire.

2) Limits on classes - Number1 would make the sniper the most feared solider on the ground for infantary (as it should) but limiting the number of snipers available to a team would even this out.

3) Pilot and driver classes - With this, a sniper will no longer be able to nick a blackhawk, fly up to the top of some unreachable hill and jump out, leaving the blackhawk stuck for like 20mins. I would also sugest that no class apart from pilot gets a parachute so that guys can suddenly get them on the top of a building. However, maybe the optoin to have a one use parachute would be quite cool if it replaced your grenades or something. Hopefully this would imrpove teamwork if pilots had to land to let you out.

4) Number of hits to kill a man - this game does my NUT in on the number of shots it can take to kill someone, even to the head it can take two shots and I just find it unbareable sometimes.

All I can think of right now, it has been about 4 months since I played the game :)

snipers may be feared but they are the least effective infantry killing soldier on any battlefield - a SAW or M203 is far more effective
Snipers are overrated - I blame Counterstrike for making them godlike when they are useless :|
 
Ludicrus inconsitencies between weapons. For example The M24, Dragunov and the PKM. These all fire a very similar round (the 7.62x51 NATO and the 7.62x54 Russian) yet do disimilar damage. And the type 88 sniper rifle and the chinese LMG is just silly. They both fire exactly the same loading of the same ammunition from barrels of a similar length and yet the T-88 is way more powerful.

Hell, the RPK-74 (5.45x39) is more powerful than the HK21 (7.62x51). And The fact that both the MEC and PLA have little stadardisation in their weapons. They use different calibres for just about everything (the MEC more so than the PLA). And the EU armament is just silly. Why the hell would they use 2 different assault rifles (L85A2 and FAMAS), a section level support weapon that uses a different calibre (HK21) and an out of date compact assault rifle (HK53)? And they dont standardise between pistols and SMGs. Same with the MEC, why do their bizons only carry 45 rounds when they should have the 9x19mm ones that carry 66 rounds? The "balance" in this game, as you might have noted, rather annoys me.

And the political inconsistencies. The EU are on the same side as the US right? And they have a treaty with Russia, right? So why are both the PLA and MEC forces armed with Europein AT weapons and why does the MEC have Russian tanks and planes when Russia is neutral, leaning toward the US/EU alliance as far as we know?

If they model after realism, then there wouldn't be any balance at all. The game would consist of the US-side carpet bombing the entire map over and over until the entire enemy force would be decimated. China side would have 50x the amount of soldier's running around, while the MEC would have sporadic terrorist cells rather than an actual 'army'. We'd have to take away the helicopter and aircraft for MEC side and restrict them using technicals and the odd-outdated tank.

Ugh, I'm sure you've played CS or CS:S right? The AWP's stop-gameplay and force these ridiculous 'chokepoints' on the map which rarely does anyone cross (at least on public servers). Personally I love the way the sniper's are, it's either headshot or 95% of their health, that's fine since it require's the sniper to hit the head for instant-death. If the enemy sniper nails me with a headshot, I have no qualms about that and can respect that he earned his kill. However, if he shot my arm and somehow I died in 1 shot then I'd be a bit pissed off. Anyway, you can always whip out the pistol if you miss and hit their body, 1 shot to the body from pistol and you've got yourself a really quick kill. Since you haven't played in 4 months, you probably don't know the changes they made to the claymore, it makes the Sniper class one of the most annoying classes on City maps.

Unless you're talking about pistol, nearly every gun kills in 1 hit to the head.

The blackhawk's (or attack heli's for that matter) aren't the invincible tanks they used to be, usually I'm satisfied if the pilot doesn't end up crashing us into the water / ground. I don't have the confidence in the average pilot to successfully keep the heli afloat, let alone land. :(

Anyway, I couldnt care less about the complexites of supplying power to a rail gun in UT, because UT is sci-fi and does not profess to be realistic in the slightest. And thats why I like it. I know that I could never scoot around with something like a minigun or redeemer, but in that i can, and the game is deliberatly vauge in how all this works so i dont worry about it.

BF2 on the other had, is a different story...

(dont worry, I only need a rant like that once every few months to keep me happy!)
 
How easy sniping is...
Bullets travel, but pretty fast, and there seems to be no bullet drop anymore.

it's just when i bought the game i knew i was buying an arcade fast paced FPS in a realistic setting much like counterstrike lack of realism
when i bought Operation Flashpoint i bought it for the hardcore military sim aspect
To complain about BF2 not pandying to realism when its style of gameplay is far more important seems petty
Besides some of the mods for BF2 like Project Reality make the game far more realistic but in my opinion to the detriment of the gameplay. Each to their own I suppose. Me, I'll be buying Armed Assault instead for the realistic war kick

-Idiots. Whole reason I left the game in the first place.

-Jets. There are WAY too many per map if you ask me.

I've learned to accept bombers. After putting in a few more hours as commander, i've realised how valuable a resource they can be to every commander. A squadron of jets can save your teams ass in ANY map, provided they listen and don't just whore up the bombs.
 
Whats been pissing me off recently is how my prefix [HL2] tag never works. Every game I type it in and it never shows up. Its annoying when everyone else in our squad looks like they belong and I look like some hobo who just joined.

Could it have something to do with the error message at the log on screen get each time I load the game up?

"Error: Falied to load local profile" or something like that.
 
the AA does need to be fixed, on wake island, i spend more time avoiding AA missles than actually attacking. I've had gunners just jump out and leave me, because we'll be in missle lock for like 2 minutes, and they just get fed up with defensive flying, so they bail out.

AA towers should just be TV missles with like color screens or something. This way the AA missle is only as good as the gunner.

Best solution would be to TV missile them from afar, otherwise you're going to have to fly real low and attack the site from unsuspecting angles (take detour), by the time the AA site see's you and you flare, he'll be long dead. AA site's are annoying, but more often than not they end up as free kills. If they were smart, they'd grab a .50 cal, now that thing can tear up a heli much better than any AA site ever could.

when they disabled throwing, it really pissed me off. Not that they disabled it so much, but how they disabled it.

First off, throwing was fine, i have no problem against throwing. But there was that glitch that would allow people to detonate c4 less than half a second after they threw it. Which wasn't how it was suppose to happen, c4 was suppose to sit for like 2 seconds before you could blow it.

So people were throwing c4 at other people, which isn't what is was ment for, but it never really bothered me that much--i don't know why everybody got so pissed at it. Anyway, they disabled basically jump+fire, which means medics can't throw packs, support can't throw bags, nobody can throw anything. Which is stupid. Plus without throwing tanks have ever LESS to fear.

What the ****, it takes like, 50 thousand million ****ing AT rockets to take down a tank. This game is ****ing bullshit, they need to redo the entire damage/health system, this is ****ing gay.
 
Well...

Jets are still too overpowered IMO.

Takes forever to load, of course you could blame it on my crappy computer, but we really dont need "Verifying Client Data" every time we load a map.

Quite often you dont get credited with a Kill Damage Assist when someone else kills your target.

Can throw Nades in the air mid jump, but cant throw C4.

Crap choppers and overpowered AA make for a chinese win almost every time on Wake.

N00b Tube hasnt really been fixed

Overpowered Claymores and PKMs.

Thats all I can remember off the top of my head.

Agreed. A guy with a PKM out sniped me. He was at least 150metres away, and before I could get my shot in he killed me.
 
i've killed plenty of people with it since the update. You just have to hit them dead on, so they have to be prone or not paying attention, but yea, you can still kill in 1 hit with it.
 
It's actually kind of funny, because this is the only game that in the midst of frustration and anger (getting arty'd, raped by jets...etc.) I can really hate. I mean, I despise the game. But then I kill a few guys and the anger wears off. :LOL:

BS. I get shot by people using it like a Bolt Action Bazooka all the time.

It's so annoying, getting constantly killed by a fricking grenade in a potato cannon.

And yeah, I agree. I absolutely despise this game. Then I get 6 knife kills. Then I love it.
 
Is it me, or did they make the Anti-tank actually more accurate and effective against human targets? It takes almost no effort to hit a prone/standing guy about 200 feet away.
 
I'm don't think they made any changes to AT in terms of against human targets...

I've blow a lot of people up with the AT rocket but I haven't been shot much by it.

Taking people down with AT missiles is piss easy, and always has been. You just gotta shoot at somebody who's looking straight at you. They're usually too shocked to move before the missile hits.

the filters do not work properly...at least for me they don't.
 
No they don't work for me either. I choose the selection to not show servers that are full but the browser still fills up with full servers. :S
 
Yeah... the only filters that work for me are the ones on the side (VOIP, BR, etc.)
