alright well i used to be in band with my 2 best friends, everything was great except we didnt have a drummer, which we were looking for. also my other really good friends were in a band (there was 3 of them total)

well everything was going good until my other friends band decided to play a song in the talent show for my school with my 2 band members. i thought that it would be ok them playing without me, no harm right?

well almost immediatly after they decided on playing in the talent show they had practices for the event. they kept having these practices without even telling me! as time went on there was less and less of my band, and more and more of the "new" band that they had going, that i was unaware of.

then one night i was over my friends house with the 2 that were in my supposed band. and right when we had to go home, i pretty much got kicked out of the house by my one friend, because little did i know was that the new band that they had started with my other friends had a party they were playing at that night. they did not want me to know about it and did not tell me.

i found out later through aol that they told me that they were going to coexist with my other friends band without me, and continue to play with my band. i knew that was bs that they were not going to continue our band, because after that they never had any band practices with me and played with their new band.

i was so infuriated and disgusted that my friends would do that sort of thing to me. after about a week arguments and so on, i finnally kinda forgave them. now, they are playing their first real show on march 13th. and i was wondering if i really should attend this show. i know that they are my really good friends, and that they would like me to attend, but do you think that i should even go? i mean everytime at school when they are talking about the show i get really upset, and i dont think they know it.....there are very few people who understand why im so mad, but i just need alittle more help on this thing....

in short....should i go to their show or should i save my 5 dollars because they betrayed me?

thanks

Too much to read... so I didn't. Without reading, my advice is to cry like a little sissy girl for 3 hours... and then go to sleep. It helped me when I was going through puberty... I wanted to stay innocent. :(

I say keep your five bucks, if they are going to make you pay to see them after putting you through all that crap, forget it! Plus they've probably stole some of you ideas (happened to me before)

Be a true friend like THEY weren't just to show them that even though they were horrible to you, you're still thier friend.

In other words....Guilt trip them!

Spend the 5 bucks hiring someone to shout at them while they play.

PS; I'll play drums for you! :E

Woah what dirtbags.

Why isnt there any room for you in the band anyway? that might solve the problem.

But yeah that would piss me off big time.

I dunno, how important are these bands? I don't play an instrument so I don't really know. But I'd imagine that it's just a thing to do for fun that shouldn't be taken all that seriously. Although it also sucks to let them walk all over you. I suggest raising your coolness level by finding older more talented people to play with (assuming you too are talented). Then they will be jealous.

Well if you're seriously into the music, then it may be fun but its also gonna be a big part of your life. I enjoy my art, and if it were ever taken away for some reason I don't know what I'd do.

well thanks all of your comments...i decided i wont be going to the show, they wouldnt of done that if they really cared that much about it...besides i have a few things planned that day so ill probably be missing it...
also if your wondering why its important, i love playing music, ive played guitar for over 2 years now and playing with my friends used to be really fun, ill just have to find another band :/

save the 5 bucks to buy some gas that you can use to burn down the building they're playing in :)

if you play guitar too.... and the other band has five people... have they already got 2 guitars? because a band with three guitars would be pretty cool! but i guess they wouldn't want to split the (measly) profits they would make from the concert.

form your own band again! get better players, and practice, practice, practice. then give them a run for their money! (literally :D)

I would go to the concert. I've been dumped by a band before, and it feels like shit. Luckily, I'm in a better one now, and we kicked their ass at the last concert.

But I would go, and cheer them on. Have fun, mosh. Rock out.

insist on free tick and just enjoy...if they are crappy EVEN BETTER!

I have heard the band bryanf445 is talking about. And I just want to say this, they suck so bad. They sound like a bunch of pots falling on the ground after 6 cats have been stabbed with a knife. They are honestly terrible. I mean before they kicked bryanf445 out of the band and then joined together with the other 3 members, they were still terrible. Honestly, I wasn't going to the show either. We all are great friends, its just annoying how 5 of your close friends keep so many secrets from you. You just can't take it anymore.

Bahahahaha, now thats funny.

Anywho... I think you should take a large hammer, go over to your friends house and smash his car then urinate on his doorstep. :P

Are you sure they didn't kick you out for a reason? Maybe they think your not a good musician. I had to kick a friend out of my band because he sucked and he thought he was good.

What a bunch of hypocrits, seriously I wouldn't go, doing stuff at your back, I would have trhow some punches really.

But the question, is, are you a good guitar player ?

Yes, he is just as good as the 2 guitarists in the "new" band.

go to the show as a proper friend...If they were thinkin of ending the band that you had been in then there's no harm - the fading out just avoided the awkwardness of telling you.

No harm no foul really in my opinion...

Become a substitute teacher in a school for rich little kids and start a rock band with them as a "school project", enter the rock band in the Battle Of The Bands, win $20,000 and so totally own your friends. Of course, you will get found out by the principal, who will be really hot and you'll be chatting her up, and fired on the spot the day before the Battle Of The Bands. Anyway, you'll get up late, the kids will hire and bus to pick you up, take you to the battle of the bands, and so totally kick ass and become a teacher for new budding rock stars.

Is this the full story though? I'm sure their side of things is a little different.

Go if you want to watch them, don't if you don't, but be a man about it, no sense getting petty over what happened, it wont be the last time life gives your balls a twist in the wrong direction. Besides, its just a kid band, seems every american teenager has been in one, it'll just fade away eventually like most of the others, or not get past the first stage in popstars or whatever reality tv show thats doing the rounds at the moment.

Concentrate on an Education instead I'd say.

I'd go. Strap on a guitar and blow their minds with Nirvana's "Lithium", or "Polly".

Join a new band. With the amount of crap that's in the charts nowadays it doesn't seem hard to get a record deal.

People can be jerks, yesterday I came home (I live in apartment building) and someone asked for change for a $10...I said ok and I ran in to get two fives. I came out, he grabbed the two fives, said the $10 was in the back of the van, he got in and drove off.

Yea? So...long story short, people are jerks, so just...try to accept it.

****ing scum bags. Forget them.. I think its really not cool what they did and the way they did it was so chicken shit...

Give me your 5 bucks instead ;) Just go see them, only if you're sure you wont go into a fit of frenzy and start cursing them in front of other people! :p

rise above them and go. show them that youre stronger than they are, and then give them a sucker punch by saying they were good.

bing upset and hitting them wont work, as they wont come back anyway. they probably wont come back if you dont go. by going, you have more chance of them coming back, even if it is small chance.
