Also, Do you have to have microsoft visualc++.net application to mod HL2? Sorry for rookie questions, I'm lloking at the same time... I'm contemplating making a 1950's gangster/cops mod, But if it's beyond me I wont... I've messed around with a few editors made a generals zero hour mod, but thats it... Any help is appreciated..

Start up HL2/CS:S first.

You'll need Microsoft Visual C++ .NET 2003 in order to 'fully' mod HL2.
