Honestly I have never liked Bush but I would not vote against him unless I didn't support him. So I set out to get the facts. I sat back and watched the Bush/Gore thing and I vowed I would vote if it were ever that close again. It appears it may be close again so I am beefing up so I can cast my vote.

I have watched Michael Moore's movie and the Bush' Brain movie and it just solidifies my dislike for him. But I still wouldn't vote against him unless I believed his opponent was a better fit.

I have only watched Debate 1 and 2. I personally was undecided when I started watching them. Partially because I have never taken any interest in Politics until this year.

Debate 1
After watching the first debate I felt both canidates seemed whiny and spoiled. Neither really seemed to outshine the other although Kerry seemed more "comfortable" than Bush.

Debate 2
Whoa.... I had heard rumors that Bush kicked Kerry's ass in this debate. I kept waiting... nope. Bush seemed like he was on the defense the entire time. He often didn't answer questions but instead pointed out Kerry's flaws or steered his answer towards Iraq. I think it was the final question.. A woman asked what three things do you view as a mistake and how did you correct them. Bush's response... I think Iraq was the right decision... hrm wtf? She didn't ask you that. So 1:45 of Bush talking about Iraq and then he says you asked what mistakes.. I think I made some mistakes when choosing my cabinet but I wont name names. Then he sits down. That was a very valid question and I feel it deserved an answer. The entire debate Bush seemed to be yelling and uncomfortable. It may seem petty but Kerry did not get emotional and out of control like Bush. Is it not possible in my mind Bush could loose his temper or reason even just briefly and make a harsh decision? I believe that now. Bush does not seperate his personal opinions and religious beliefs from his JOB.

Overall if I were forced to vote right now I would pick Kerry over Bush based on those two debates. I am still going to watch the third (I love suprnova) and then make my decision.

Anyone have a change of heart either way based on the debates?

This is not meant to be a Bush vs Kerry although I am certain it will become that :)

Yes, it has affected my decision. I'm a moderate Republican who goes under the *swing* category. I have just voted 30 minutes ago.

To recap, I voted Kerry.

bush showed a very unprofessional attitude throughout the whole thing

yeappppp

I was originally for kerry
I'm still for kerry
But now i have about
Twice as many reasons

Nice question.

I was for Kerry going into the debates. I would have to say that overall it made me more confident in my choice.

Aside from that I thought it did influence me in another important way as well. It really showed me that niether candidate is anywhere near perfect and illustrated the sad fact that you can't take politicians words at face value. Of course I already knew that, but the debates really drove point home for me. Politics seems to be more about spin and persuasion more than facts a lot of the time.

But in the end I'm still confident that my vote is the right choice. I've tried to become informed on the issues and will continue to do so until November and what I've seen so far both from my own research and from the debates has reaffirmed that decision for me.

Yeah I noticed that too.. He seemed to try and appeal to the panel with humor when he either had no answer or lost his train of thought.

The long pauses freak me out too.

Although I hate the fact Kerry and Edwards are lawyers.
Lawyers == :x

I plan to do the same. I hear the third is more of the same but I still plan to watch it tomorrow.

Okay hate to lay napalm in here, but, in all of these debates, kerry says "I have a plan!" Okay well i've heard you say that about a bagillion times, but ya know what, I HAVENT THE SLIGHTEST IDEA WHAT THE HELL IT IS. I personally think that bush kicked kerry's but in the last debate. Oh, im a radical and blind republican. And a war hawk.

:naughty: Bush tries to win over the audience by crackin' jokes.

Yeah I am aware :) I watch TV when I want to not when the networks decide I should watch TV. I downloaded all three debates from suprnova.

If you live in Phoenix you've had to known about the 3rd debate on Wednesday. I heard traffic in the East Valley was crazy. I stayed on the West Side of the Valley though I was tempted to go down to ASU Main and check out the spectacle.

Well I have noticed he says that alot. (I have a plan) I have heard him elaborate on it a few times but there are some things I am still not clear on either.

On the flipside then I have not really heard Bush outline any plans other than defending existing plans/decisions. I am more interested in what he will do in the next 4 years other than the IRAQ debacle.

Yeah I worked RIGHT by there and I went home at noon :) It was crazy I hear. I am aware the debates have all aired. :)

debates didn't affect me much. i feel a tad stronger about my vote.

Very true, but to me, I think that Kerry really doesnt give 2 chits. I mean cmon, hes doing it for fun. He should go bang Mrs. Ketchup some more. Oh and I went to the bush rally @ BoB, pretty funny to hear an entire stadium booooooooooo whenever kerry talks. lol. Oh and traffic was absolutly HORRIBLE. And afterwards there a pretty bad accident on the Eastbound 60. Yuck.

Did bush detail his plans in the debate either? No.

Debates aren't a place where candidates go into detail about their plans. There's not nearly enough time for that. Tell me honestly, do you know more about the details and specifcis of Bush's plans than you do about Kerry's?

If you would like to know about Kerry's plan the information is a click away:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4448630/
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/special/president/issues/index.html

Among many other sites.

And for checking up on both candidates always a good site: http://www.factcheck.org/

Thanks for the links. I am leaning one way but I don't feel I am educated enough to make that decision if I had to tomorrow.

Neutrino - I appriciate your enthusiasm toward your candidate, but you obviously only saw the fact that i said kerry only said plan blah blah blah, but I dont think you saw that I am a blind Republican, and don't care for Democrats. (In otherwords, use your 15th amendment, and vote for whoever the hell u want  )

Bush or Kerry

well i havent seen anything that Kerry has in the debates or anywhere else. He says he has a plan lol.Like a 50cent per gallon gas tax.yhe has no plan other than trying to bow down to the united nations.

Hrm. I didn't get that impression but I have not seen the 3rd debate yet.

also watching a micheal moore farenheight 9/11 such crap. Go watch farenhype9/11 a true documentary

Dont pick a president from watching a debate

Oh I'm not. I have been reading plenty on the net. The debates just allow me to examine the mannerisms and their demeanor as they are addressing the issues and reacting to their opponent.

So in other words, facts and researching political candidates don't matter to you and have no affect on your decision. Nice to know. I'll keep it in mind in the future.

Ok so in your mind Micheal Moore's documentary is fake?

But the other one Farenhype 9/11 is true?

This is strictly your opinion but you state it like it is fact. On what basis? You are coming off as a Bush fan in the worst way.

Actually let me explain that one.. that was not meant to be an insult. It seems from what I have seen/read that Bush supporters don't want you to educate yourself. They don't want you to base your vote on the debates. They don't want you to watch anything that discusses their party in a negative light. Which is understandable but the Kerry party is not using this tactic. They seem to be focusing on the topics and winning this campaign not restricting and controlling Americans as they decide.

I haven't figured out if that is a defense mechanism or his way of stalling? Either way he is rarely funny and comes off as unprofessional.

Humm they have started voting already?

I think the first debate was clear cut that kerry "won" the other 3 were not so clear cut.

Not really. Can you guess the reasons why I choose Kerry? :)

because bush is funny looking? heh nah, i dont know well enough to even make a guess
