I miss waiting for half-life 2, I miss being able to host a game in warcraft 3, and have people join the map, I miss being able play diablo 2 with all the cheaters/hackers, I miss quake 3, I miss playing unreal without having to download some stupid map. I miss playing multiplayer pandora tomorrow, I miss a lot of things; times change, but not always for the better. Waiting for half-life 2 was fun, we all posted on what we thought of the screenshots, we all loved it.
Warcraft 3, fun game first ten patches, then people started learning how to make custom maps, now everybody and there god damned brother make a ****ing map (**** your censorship), why can't people play anybody else's maps? They all host their own maps, nobody joins, two people join, and they play, then you try to host a classic, and nobody joins, they're all out trying to get somebody else to join their god damned map, mother ****ers.
Diablo 2 was fun, then they had 1.10, stopped a lot of cheaters, i'm not saying I cheat myself, i'm just saying that it was much more enjoyable with all these cheaters, now we have people who map hack and stuff, i'm not saying they didn't do this before 1.10, i'm saying that before 1.10, diablo 2 had a much better sense of gameplay. Quake 3 was fun, and is now old, I want it to be new again. I go on unreal, and now you have to download somebody's stupid map to play, it's ****ing ridiculous. Pandora tomorrow was a good idea, but nobody plays it.
I don't like maintaining a blog, I like to feel as if somebody is reading.

I mentioned half-life 2, and the only forum people read is this one

I don't know why I keep shooting myself in the head

I'm struggling with the times as well. I keep trying to play TFC despite the obvious lack of servers and players.

This isnt really "General halflife 2" however, it is prompting discussion on Game-culture/history (maybe... if you look at it right) so it's now in general games chat.

And to add to your point.. I kinda miss the waiting too.. now that its over well.. I miss foraging through screenshots for little clues, downloading shakycam movies, listening to .wav's in reverse, and hanging from the words of every "email to valve".

But dont worry, it will return with HL3, and the mod scene, but it'll never be the same..

1.09 was quite awesome.

i miss my 0.7 wf /w 40/15 [legit] and my ith bow/swords's etc.

I miss the good old days too... no wait, I don't. There are many great games out there, and many more coming. :)

Thats a good attitude to have, i miss the days when Alpha Centuri played on my computer though... fecking XP :p

pfft, considering it was legit :p

i had all the other good items, multiple mule accounts filled with soj's etc.

for me the good old days were sitting at my playsation completing Final Fantasy games, or a few years later, when i used to play C+C generals loads, and had an account with over 100 wins and 30 losses. those were the good old days... now the only PC game i am looking forward to is world of warcraft, a game that i have allready played for over 50 hours.

tbh, i miss having free time, when i didnt know the meaning of "coursework" or "revision" ;(

I miss the days when Final Fantasy games were still good and there were great games like Mario 64 out that still impress me with how fun they are.

i still own a copy of ms-dos 6.0 somewhere

oh dig dug, wolfenstien and orginal duke nukem games, plus many more i cant remeber

LoL this post is almost impossible to read, I almost had a siezure. Also why the hell do you like cheating on battle.net.. and about the wc3 games just join one! Jesus your a whiner! and why can you play mp pandora tomorrow anymore? what the hell is wrong with you?

Games just aren't fun anymore. I just bought (or, actually, traded) myself BF 1942 Anthology and BF Vietnam. I had played BF1942 before, but I guess I didn't remember that it just isn't any fun. Snipers are everywhere, and they always get you in one headshot (which, in my opinion, seems impossible). Planes and ships hunt for lone soldiers wandering around in the middle of nothing. Everyone is so worried about getting a plane that they never wait for any gunners. Teamplay: what's that?

As for BF: Vietnam, I gave up when I realized that it uses different ports than 1942 and that I have to configure my firewall for it. I tried for a while, but the ****ing thing just wouldn't work. For some reason, the retard developers saw it fit to make both games use a million ports, instead of a few, like Steam does. So now we're reduced to fighting firewalls instead of playing.

Half-Life 2 wasn't really all that fun, especially since it has shit performance on high-end computers. Nothing is fun anymore. Games are shit.

World of Warcraft. A game that makes you remember why you game. It is actually the first "fun" game I have played in quite a while.

Besides WoW, it does seem like gaming is a chore at times. I had to chore through HL2, Doom 3, and Far Cry. It is rather pathetic if you think about it. But I won't, because I don't want to feel the pain of realizing I spent a whole bunch of money on a gaming computer.

I don't really have the money or motivation to pay a monthly fee. That's why I loathe MORPGs.

I've spent so much money on my system that it makes grown men weep. Most of it was spent on stuff that broke down immediately or otherwise didn't work. Go me. What a waste...

I actually think I prefer consoles over PCs these days. I don't have to dick around with settings, tweaks, patches and shit.

you must not have played diablo ii on battle.net

it's not so much cheating as people having a single advantage [like in cs], but it's simply hacked items.

and no, it is easy enough to find games where there aren't people using them, but it makes it alot more competive, interesting etc.

i miss the days when lucasarts made good games (the x-wing series, full throttle, monkey island, sam and max) and doom's double-barreled shotgun
