hi. i have brought hl2 and all hl games with ati vid card. how long will it take me to pass the 1st game. is it worth playing the 1st one for storyline puposes before hl2? :sniper:

HL1's story isn't very complex. It could really be summed up in about 4 sentences.
Play HL1 for HL1. It's about the way VALVe tells the story, the scripted sequences, and all that jazz. It's what made HL special. Play it before HL2, though. It'll give you a feel for the game, how it should play, and you'll get to play one of the best games in gaming history.

Yes! deffinently play HL befor HL2!
But id recomend playing HL:S instead, for the betterr gfx, pycics and so on.
But only if it comes with whatever you bought. If not, and you have to wait, play the original instead.

Always remember HL ===> HL2

Thats bull. Im sure there are all kinds of things that only someone who has played HL1 would fully understand. You will not be lost wondering what the hell is going on, no; but you will miss out on all the little jokes and such pertaining to HL1.

yeah def play hl1 first, not so much to help you in hl2 but to get a feel for the game itself....become one with half-life. And crabcakes is right there are probally gunna be lil inside jokes for the veterines of hl.

Half-Life 2 apparently... I never played through all of Half-Life 1, and I don't really intend to until it's ported to the source engine and I've already played the second.
