Gears of War - On final level on hardcore, RAAM is a bitch to kill (need help!)

Oblivion - I'm level 9! yay.....I've joined all the guilds now, but theives guild is more annoying than anything else, only good thing is the fences for stolen goods, blood price is annoying....dang.....Dark Brotherhood ftw! May Sithis Guide you......

Perfect Dark:Zero - tbh, havent played this a great deal, done the first mission and got onto the second one where that girl says, "Use the gun for your own protection only!" then 3 million gangsters come out of nowhere once she zooms off....

Silent Hill - I'll never ever stop playing, im on next fear mode and was taking the piss out of the zombie nurses, "You call that scalpol a melee weapon? Pfft! THIS is a melee weapon!" *revs pnuematic drill* :D I love just going monster hunting around town when im stuck on a puzzle or something, not only is it fun, but you wipe out all the monsters so you never have to worry again and pick up a fair few items along the way......awesome game, i also bought the dvd the other day which is cool.....ish

I'm playing Dawn of War (original, decided to actually DO the campaign.. good story,(spoiler) LOL LIBRARIAN TURNS EVIL.. what a NOOB. (oops... spoiler.) And Lost Planet... dang man, Why did I buy this.. Shouldve bought Elder Scrolls.. or like, some miniatures or something, dang I hate this game! Maybe later on itll get funner.

Splinter Cell Double Agent: Finished EVERY objective given to me, and got 100% on EVERY mission so far. I'm on the cruise ship right now.

Gears of War: Playing on Insane, I'm at Fenixs house now.

Far Cry Instincts Predator: I just got to another island with exploding guys..

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops: On my second playthrough on extreme, so far I've gotten no alerts, killed no one, and got 68 recruits, med level 71, tech level 51, I'm at the part where you have to blow up the power station so the gates will open..

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter: I got to take out some AA guns and I've only got a sniper rifle, 2 trucks came out of no where and demolished my entire team.. I had to take both of them out with like 6 grenades.. fvcking gay.
 
Not a whole lot at the moment. 360 is busted and I'm having a hell of a time getting it replaced... was only really playing Gears of War though, stuck on RAAM on insane and it's a bugger to find local servers online so not much doing there anyway. Have CoD3 but I like 2 on PC better, might as well sell that off.

On PC I was playing Company of Heroes, but I can only take that in doses since RTS isn't really my forte and it gets frustrating when things aren't going the way you want them to. It's not even the losing, I can get owned and still have fun if I know I gave it my best shot, but when units are constantly dieing for no reason or missing all the time or not doing as you tell them it gets pretty... ngarr...

Anyway, my puter's pretty loaded with virii and such at the mo anyway so getting anything to run is a pain. So really I'm not playing much of anything. So bored =/
 
WoW: Just got BC and have a lvl 10 Drenari Mage as well as a lvl 33 Human Paladin, proud that I can play it without getting addicted.

BF2142: Lance Cpl Gold, always top the server with the recon class and sniper rifle, seen some pretty hilarious things on that game

Pro Evo 6 (Xbox 360): Unlocked all hidden players but mainly on Master League with Udinese

ELITE BEAT AGENTS, DS - I cannot overstate how awesome this game is, how much fun it is. I'm stuck on the very last level at Hard Rock difficulty (That's supa-hard difficulty to you non-EBA folks). SO FAST. Ack, Jumping Jack Flash is impossible at this level... there's this bit where you have to hit so very very very very fast... my touch screen is all scratched in circles from dragging and spinning and hitting. Arrrgh. Incredible fun though.

Planetside, PC - I participated as a pilot in a massive fun battle today on... Hossin? Somewhere in the local nebula. Whereever it was, we ended up fighting off New Conglomerate and those purple Alien-lovers on a lovely river. I drowned 5 times, and achieved battle-rank 6. Woo! I'm playing as part of SOE's Reserves program for Planetside - it's avaliable until March, which is pretty awesome for a trial.

Pro Evo 5 and 6 on the PC. I'm finding 6 was in many ways a step backwards.

Pro Evo 6 and Fifa 07 on the 360. Pro Evo 6 plays better on the 360 (different engine) but shooting is so fubared you can never score from outside the box. FIFA 07 is a sweet game, you actually have to defend unlike PES 6. but it's a little too easy to skin the defenders and again shooting is borked.

So yeah, football football football.

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade

New zone (Quel'Thalas) is genuinely fun, very polished. I'm seriously impressed with Blizzard. Blood Knights for the win! I haven't tried Outland yet because I tried to log on to my 60's server and the queue was shall we say, large. Over 1000. Plus I've heard outland is so crowded you can scarcely get a quest done without waiting for repops.

I play LoZ:TP once or twice a week if I'm lucky since I don't own a Wii yet. Haven't touched the PC or the DS for a long time.

You cant score from outside the box on pro evo 6? oh dear...

Its also a fail to even compare FIFA 07 to Pro Evo 6, of course you have to defend on Pro Evo 6, maybe you just aren't playing it on a hard enough difficulty, in fact defending is one of the best parts of the game, timing the tackles perfectly or getting a good crunching sliding tackle in. No idea what game you are playing

That's fairly clear from your reply.

Pro Evo defending, Hold X or whatever it corrisponds to. Defender runs at player and heckles for ball, almost never gets beaten for pace.

FIFA 07, if defending against Henry and you try that cack, Henry runs past you, you don't get the Pro Evo speed boost, so you don't catch him. You have to defend deep and time your tackles.

And no, you can barely score from outside the box in the 360 version of PES 6. Couple of hundred online games under my belt I can safely say I've never seen a shot that's not been saved or blazed over bar from more than 5 yards outside the box.

Of course, years of experiance playing PES since ISS Pro Evo on the PS, and consitantly playing vs CPU on the hardest diff makes me a uber noob. My 15 game winning streak (where 3 people quit due to being 4 - 0 down before half time) last night on the 360 without playing with Adriano vs players who did confirms I clearly have no concept of how to totally dominate the game...

And if you're going to tell me about how you score blinding goals from the halfway line in PES on the PS2/PC/PSP/Anything that's not a 360, please just pull your foot out of your mouth, it's a different engine, plays well but shootings borked, looking for less than 3 mins on PESFan will tell you that much.

Now, PES vs FIFA. I know every PES die hard still thinks FIFA's like it was back in 98, but the game has changed significantly. The usual fanboy response sums up to 'I played it like I played PES, and I got owned.' And why the hell can't someone compare a football game to another football game. Blind brand loyality is why fruitcakes are lining up to by the PS3 for ?600.

There's far more to defending in pro evo than that. You can hold the button down if you like - but you'll get beaten by anyone with an ounce of skill. Tackling isn't as involved as PES5 (which has the best tackling of any footy game imo), but it's still streets ahead of most games. I could never go back to Fifa 07.

I actually can't remember the last time I played any of my games, I'm pretty sure it was either css or dods back in September, but I'm really not sure.

I honestly don't know what to think of that...

Reformatting has given me an excuse to play through Half Life 2 again, albeit without the gazillion bugs it's picked up over the years (I'm looking at YOU ****ed up lighting).

I've been throwing back the Ruskies in Holland and West Germany, raiding Yugoslavia for resources and supplies, taking back Gibraltar (and most of the rest of the Iberian peninsula) from the Franco-German forces, liberating Burma, Tailand, Bangladesh and North East India from those dastardly Chinese and I'm currently fighting in Southern Africa to keep control of Her Majesties colonies, so they arnt overrun by those blasted commies!

Online its very hard to score from outside the box on the 360 yeah, but thats lag issues, doesn't have the full flow and the power of shots are always going way over what you want them at, but i still seen a handle of the goals go in from outside the box, as well the free kicks. I have scored many from outside the box on single player however, the shooting system is the best out of any of the games.

Big deal, you have played the highest difficulty everytime, pretty much everyone who has followed the game from its origins does that now, and its nothing to be proud of having 15 game winning streak, i have played countless games online on the 360 with pro evo 6 and half of them were bad, players who only used barcelona, brazil or man utd.

I aint showing blind loyality to Pro Evo as I have always brought and tried the FIFAs every yeah hoping that they get back to how they were back in the late 90s, I played FIFA 07, and I hated it, took it back the next day. It is an improvement at least on FIFA 06 but it still has failed to address the core issues of the game, seems every goal you score is awsome, just no simple goals. The sensativity between the movement on the pad and players reacting is shocking, and the passing system is awful. The manager mode is just stupid, some of the multiple choice questions to take are comical, they just leave the managing part to the Champ Manager games.

Plus, im not even contemplating buying a PS3 ;)
 
Just got a PS2, lawls. Got Final Fantasy X, Jak 3 and Viewtiful Joe to start with. Just played the first whee bits of each so far, FFX is about the same as I remember (played it at friends), Viewtiful Joe seems pretty nifty too, but Jak 3... phwoar! It's like Crash Bandicoot meets Tomb Raider meets... well I forget all the franchises I likened it to earlier, but it's awesome! <3 Naughty Dog.

Oh yeah, and thanks if you posted in the thread I made earlier. Figured it'd be easier to mention it here and just let that one die rather than bumping it again.

Never said you were, just using an example. While I agree that the FIFA league system is a bit unpolished, the Master League in PES is long overdue a rehaul. I'd say FIFA has the advantage PES in this respect, with loads of cups, leagues and teams.

For gameplay, I just find defending in PES really easy, always have (except PES 1 or 2 where one of my mates used a 3 up front system with Koller up front, every goal was a cross + header)

For the last generation of football games, PES 6 (360) probally has the best engine, I just find shooting/keepers totally borked, and the shot fake uber powerful. Like if you're through on goal, if you shoot, about 90% of the time the keeper will save it or you'll miss. However if you time it right (easy enough) you can round the keeper with a shot fake and score about 90% of the time. PES 6 for the PC to me is a step backwards from PES 5, which at least required you to time your tackles. FIFA 07 however has lots of stuff PES should have, like analogue movement. However the pitch is too large making the overhead throughball from midfield way too effective.

Also come on, multiple issues that have been around since ISS PES 1 are still present in PES 6.

And seeing as this topic has dragged massively away from the title. I recently loaded up Nexus. Looking forward to Genesis Rising and Sins of a Solar Empire. Might fire up Homeworld 2 and start the PDS mod again.

Well it all comes down to opinion in the end so no point dragging from the main topic like you said

Just reinstalled Hidden and Dangerous 2, possibly the best squad based action game I have ever played, really inteligently made, AI was very good for the time it came out, and the Tactical Mode was briliantly accurate, even though 90% of the time, your planned attacks never go to plan which goes to another joy of the game, a Plan B =D

CoD2 (via the steamage)
CS:S Gungame mod..surprisingly good fun
DoD:S for the snipage.

Edit: Damn you Shift..now I'm thinking I should reinstall H&D2 and start playing again...it truly is brilliant.
 
Just got out of Cyssor on Planetside. God damn, the Terran Republic (us) were owning for 4 hours but I logged off, and my little brother logged on (on the New Conglomerate side) and both the New Conglomerate and the Vanu Sovereignity surged and smacked us back into 3 little bases. The tide turned again, though, and the New Conglomerate and the Terran Republic are equally matched again, with the Vanu getting shunted into one little base.

We nearly had the whole continent but the Vanu and the NC both launched MASSIVE ATTACKS at the same time.

Yeah that game truly kicked ass. There was only a few things that let it down, but for the most part it was awesome.
