What game is this?

looks like a glorified preview vid- obviously some stuff they took out, like binoculars, some other map (or is it Karkand?), and some voice commands. Looks good, yes, but i like it the way it is.

I beileve that was a ground unit "painting" a target for planes to attack.. somthing they removed. I dunno.

That was mashtuur city at different time of day. That was the e3 04 video of the game when it was first announced. You can see the models dont look nearly as good as the finished game. They have the laser designater but they took it out because it was to powerful or something. I remember the day that video came out year ago. I like how they delayed the game to june. I think its a lot better then that video.

Mabye they should have the laser designator instead of artillery.

"cheaeted"? The video looks like turd compared to the game we have. The only reason it looks better is because it was filmed on a GeForce 6800 with antialiasing and anisotropic filtering maxed out.

It's obviously a mix of CGI, pre-renders, scripted scenes and actual gameplay. It sort of is the game we have, only less... EXTREME.

I agree so less EXTREME! :)

I wish they hadn't taken out the laser designator and the binoculars. I was in a game the other day, and we had a man in an F14 as air support. I was on my way in a Kart to one one of the bases in Operation Clean Sweep, and spotted a tank before IT spotted me. I hit the deck and typed out as fast as I could "DISNEY, I NEED AIR SUPPORT!" (disney being the name of the guy in the jet) he replied "No can do man". I asked "WHY!!!!", seeing that the tank was coming over the hill and about to spot me. As I was typing out where I was, trying to get it out to him which asking for backup was me, BABOOM. Dead.

I really wish there was a way to see the names of units under the fullsize map. That would help LOADS. And the laser designator would have saved my ass bigtime. Could've saved my ass another time on the same round. I almost had one of the bases, but just as the capture bar was reaching the end, BABOOM. Tank that I was trying to hide from blasted me.

And the binoculars! I could use those SOOO much. Not all guns have scopes, and it would be EXTREMELY usefull on Kubra Dam, as an AT to have those. I have this hill WAY back in the valey, kinda by the US spawn point, right above this one base that's up for grabs at the start of the round. I usually go AT and camp out over there, since it provides an excellent view of the bridge and the dam, the two chokepoints on the map, and a great overlook of both the US spawn point and the Base Up For Grabs. Problem is though, the standard LAW scope doesn't zoom enough, and i'm usually calling UAV after UAV (if i'm lucky to be squad leader) at the far end of the dam, hoping it will spot something for me to wait for. Bino's would be extremely usefull for loads of other stuff also.

I'll shut up now.

I wish the laser designation was in but in a certain way. Only squad leaders have the designator so not everyone has the ability to light up a target for aircraft. The laser designator would only have so much allotted time (like a medic pack, ammo pack or repair wrench only with slower recharge). You'd point and click with it, hold it (limited move speed of course) and the target would be lit up.

You know how when you're ready to bomb in a plane and vechicles come up as square boxes? They could do the same for designated targets only have a special color for targets designated by squad leaders. The pilots could then bomb this target as best they could or the bottom gunner (in a 2 seater of course) could get lock quickly with their missiles and fire and forget.
